Four Seasons Seafood Restaurant 泗季海鮮 at Bandar Mahkota Cheras KL, promises to entice tastebuds of seafood lovers, officially, by the end of this September. Helmed by its banquet-like interior, we first thought that a meal in Four Seasons Restaurant will burn a whole in our pocket but as we scan through the menu, we are quite surprise that everything on the list is reasonably priced. In fact, not too wrong to say cheap, considering the medium-high range dining environment.
Located same row with Bone & Pot Steamboat 有骨氣 restaurant, a stone’s throw away from AEON Mahkota Cheras, surrounded by neighbourhood, we can see the potential of Four Seasons Seafood Restarant in becoming one of the most well-loved family restaurants in town soon.
Grilled Fresh Prawn 醬油王鮮蝦
Four Seasons Seafood Restaurant ‘s menu covers wide range of choices, from seafood goodness cooked in different ways to nourishing herbal soup, classic steamed egg, deep fried beancurd, stir fried vegetables, as well as individual dishes started as low as RM6. Not too far from being home-cooked yet with interesting twist from Chef of Four Seasons ‘s speciality, such as Intestine with Dry Shrimps, Salted Pork Trotter and Golden Pumpkin with Oat to complete.
Herbs Stewed Chicken 藥材菜園雞
We sampled quite a number of dishes during our visit, and have to say that most are good, very homey comfort food. Take the Herbs Stewed Chicken for example, it is one of the dishes grandma would put on the dining table whenever we went back to hometown. The concoctions of herbs aroma and essence released from chicken during stew process is the clear-winner, obviously. Kampung chicken is used, so expect more chews within each bite.
Seafood Pot 内有乾坤
Seafood Pot looked nothing special than just a pot of seafood immersed in thick, red hot curry. But as we dig in, we slowly discovered prawns, squid and most unexpected would be the minced meat pie (肉餅) from the pot. Definitely a dish that lives up to its name in Chinese – 内有乾坤, which means “there are secret stuff hidden within”.
Claypot Kangkung 砂煲蕹菜
Stir-fried kang kung, placed in claypot. Not an extraordinary dish, better if it could be less spicy.
Stir Seosonal Fried Vegetables 清炒青龍菜
Minced Meat Preserved Vegetables Tofu 菜香豆腐
Deep fried tofu with minced meat & preserved vegetables, believe to be a familiar family dish. The tofu itself is crispy at the outer layer, with contrasting creamy soft interior. Generously topped with minced meat and chopped preserved vegetables (Chai Poh 菜圃) , enriching the entire dish with more flavours and textures.
Sliced Meat with Spring Onions & Ginger 姜蔥炒山豬肉
Sliced meat stir fried with spring onions and ginger, our favourite in Four Seasons Restaurant. Love the extra tender meat, with not trace of dryness and toughness. Pork Slices cooked with curry sauce is good too, but both can be a tad too salty eating on its own. Pair with rice. Ichiban.
Choy Pu Steamed Fish 菜圃清蒸高棋魚
Steamed fish, Summerkid’s all time favourite. We had Gao Qi fish during that lunch meal, a fish heaped with ample of softness and quite fleshy. We found unusual red patches near to the fish bones and thought it was partially uncooked but after asking the chef, he said that this is because the fish is served at the moment it just fully cooked, locked with moisture and sweetness the most. Or to say, the best time to enjoy a steamed fish.
Butter Crab 奶油蟹
With crab priced only from RM35/pc to RM45/pc currently, crabs lover shall grab the chance to enjoy seafood feast at Four Seasons Restaurant. Various cooking method, such as Spicy Style Crab, Kam Heong Crab, Black Pepper Crab, Spiced Salt Crab, Claypot Crab with Chinese Wine, Salted Egg Crab, Steam Crab with Egg White, and Butter Crab.
Spicy Style Chilli Crab 辣椒蟹
We recommended Spicy Style Chilli Crab. Stir fried style, dry sauce that is fiery hot, tongue numbing
Salted Egg Squid 鹹蛋囌東
