Negative Celsius Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich claims themselves as the most special ice cream in town. You can’t deny at certain extend, when you see a round ice cream sandwiched within two colourful macarons, sprinkled with toppings -call it a macaron ice cream burger. It may be common as one of the street food in Korea, but so far, not yet in Malaysia.
Negative Celsius creates a new dessert wave around KL and PJ since early of May. A local brand, by a group of young, energetic founders. No more ice cream in cloud or ice cream with honeycomb but only ice cream in macaron. For RM9.90, you can have two macarons in size slightly bigger than your usual macarons, with ice cream and toppings of your choice.
Currently working on mobile food truck style, curious customers can track down their Facebook and Instagram closely to locate where will they be on particular day. Great news for all who staying around Jalan Genting Klang and Setapak area, Negative Celsius is stationed at PV128 (* the middle entrance next to Six Inch Cafe) from 10th June 2015 till 14th June 2015, 12PM onwards till sold out.
There are only 300 Negative Celsius macaron ice cream burger daily, go there early or be ready to get disappointed. Thanks to the information from some of our friends who stay in Setapak, saying that the queue is long and we should go early. We dropped by at PV128 last weekend exactly at 12PM to get a taste of this cute dessert. #kiasustyle. Perhaps luck was on our side that afternoon, there was no queue at all during our visit. Just pay and go.
There are 7 types of macaron to choose from – pink, blue, yellow, purple, grey, green, orange. Get a pair. Then, choose your flavour of ice cream from strawberry, chocolate, green tea and vanilla. Finally, get your toppings – popcorn, almonds, chocolates, marshmallow, oreo, love candy, carnival mix and white chocolate.
We mix and match for two Negative Celsius macaron ice cream burger. Asking us if it tasted good, we will say yes, but not exceptionally nice. At least, it is a dessert that would bring smiles to everyone. It is colourful, adorable, nice to take photos with. Price wise, RM9.90 can be a little pricey.
Do give Negative Celsius a visit if you are in the mood for something sweet!
