In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year, the Chefs at Luk Yu Tea House present diners with an impressive selection of dim sum, à la carte dishes and set menus that are only available from now until 5th March 2015; the 15th day of the Lunar New Year.
Created especially for this auspicious festive season, the pork-free dim sum available at Luk Yu Tea House are Steamed Golden Sweet Corn Bun (满地金钱宝粟米), Steamed Yam Cake with Dried Shrimp (玉到高满堂芋头), Steamed Chicken and Prawn Dumpling “Siew Mai” topped with Abalone (袋袋有余鲍鱼烧), Baked Crispy Sweet Potato Puff (金树报平安金薯酥) and Steamed Fish Paste and Chicken rolled with Chicken Ham and Chives (财源滚滚来烟肉卷).
Also available this Chinese New Year are uniqueà la carte dishes, which are perfect complements to the dim sum offers. The menu includes Deep Fried Cod Fish with Special Sauce 年年有馀 (金辉鳕鱼), Braised Whole Abalone with Porcini Mushroom 包您发财(牛肝菌扒鲍鱼), Braised Lamb Shank with Sweet Mui Choy 喜气洋洋 (甜味菜扒羊小腿), Traditional Braised Chicken Leg with Red Rice Sauce 金鸡报喜 (古法酱烤鸡腿), Wok Fried Seafood with Spicy Sauce served in Coconut 花开富贵 (海鲜椰子盅) and Stir Fried Glutinous Rice Cakes with Shrimp and Crab Roe 满载而归 (虾仁蚧皇炒水晶年糕).
There are two options of set menus for diners who are looking to reunite with friends and family. Guests may opt for the RM488 menu for six pax, or the RM688 menu for ten pax. Both 9-course menus start with the salmon yee sang, where diners get to toss to an upcoming year of abundance, prosperity and vigour. This is followed by soup, chicken, fish, prawns, vegetables, rice, dessert and the traditional deep fried New Year Cake. All prices are subject to 10% service charge and 6% government tax.
