The “dry tree floating in air” has almost become the icon for this designer cafe- Cafe Studio, drawing people from near and far to patronize. Of course, the cafe has more to discover.
Resides in The Strand Kota Damansara, Cafe Studio is one of our top list for a quiet hang out after Cat In The Box@ Centre for Asian Photography at The School, Jaya One.
The shop sign for Cafe Studio is small, difficult to locate especially for those who don’t frequent to this area, like us. Summerkid drove along Jalan PJU 5/20D, spotted SPACEWEISS and here we are, Cafe Studio is just above.
Drown ourself to the newly drawn abstract painting along the wall as we walked up the staircases to Cafe Studio housed at 1st floor.
Combining the beauty of art and food, Cafe Studio strives to escalate their existence to more than just a cafe. Every piece of ornaments here not only adorns the cafe, but also reflects the sincerelity of owners to present a unique, one-of-its-kind cafe cum studio to all guests. All decorations here are on sold. Ask for customization if you like to.
Push the door into Cafe Studio, we were welcomed with a row of “off the ground wooden pflanks” hang from ceiling, intriguingly creates a “floating” touch.
Celebrate with Copper sculpture exhibition by Chen Yun Chow (陳畇锜) from 1st May 2014 till 31st May 2014. Admire the delicately crafted sculpture, beautifully align at all corners of the cafe.
Walk in further, the place is spacious. Choose the seats you like, glass tabletop with white rattan chairs; sturdy wooden tabletop with wooden stool; classic marble table with comfy cushion chairs or princess sofa.
Here. Space counts….
..Same goes to creativity…
Cafe Studio feels like home. Yet not.
..As not everyone grows plants in glass bottle filled with colourful liquids at home…
Each table in Cafe Studio is far separated to avoid crowded, uncomfortable dining. So be it fullhouse, or vacant, the ambience remain calm, tranquil. Soothing background music that is so familiar, so so familiar that you will start to hum along without notice.
Bits and everything here continuously get you stunned, even the menu hand over by the staff. The menu cover is built on solid, metalic base, and as you flip through evey page, continue to get wowed with signatures dishes creatively pictured down.
Seeing that the environment already fares thousands thumbs up and applause, the menu in Cafe Studio may be shadowed. But still, we got hands down with few unique dishes that your can’t find else where, as they are all specially churn out by the ladyboss. All ideal for brunch, lunch or dinner.
House Special Spaghetti (RM15.90)
Gravy free pasta which you can place them into the category of Aglio Olio, partially. Spaghetti cooked to al-dente, topped over with rich in texture paste specially crafted by the chef, combining finely chopped turkey ham, mushroom, Jalapenos and olive oil. Three medium sized, herb tinged shrimps to complete the dish.
Nasi Lemak (RM10.90/ala carte; RM12.50/ set lunch)
One of the items newly added to the Asian Delights lunch menu, featuring fried chicken marinated with spices, accompanied with sweet & sour anchiviews and traditionally made sambal along with rice aromatic infused with coconut milk and pandan leaves. Other options included Beer Batter Chicken, Baked Spice Dory Fish in Banana Leaf and Foil, and Seafood Laksa Special. Each set comes with choice of iced lemon tea or iced peach tea, add on RM1.50 for a mini chocolate cake.
Extreme Honeycomb Indulgence RM12.90
Ice blended honeycomb and coffee crowned with a swirl of whipped cream, garnished with crispy, crumbly crushed chocolate bar with honeycomb center. Mouthful of milkiness, very thick and rich. Suitable even for kids, as the caramelized sweetness seems to lends more flavours here, toning down the distictness of coffee.
Truly Lemongrass Fizz RM8.90
The appearance may not be appealing, but never judge the book by its cover. This green colour, energy drink is boasts with freshness of lemongrass and fresh mint leaves, drawing tangy twist from lemon juice while rendering a balance of sweetness through the pinch of sour plum powder sprinkled on top. A thirst quenching combination.
Cafe Studio, a lovely place to relax, slow down your pace and enjoy a cup of coffee.
