The month of September ushers in a whirlwind of activity for us. While we thought that we would be just staying in town, running errands, we were beyond thrilled to get an unexpected opportunity – to escape for a few days to a place we’ve never been before, enjoy some much-needed “we time”.
There we go, for a blissful getaway to the vibrant and bustling Metro Manila, Philippines! Or to be exact, 4D3N staycation at the Solaire Resort Entertainment City – the pioneer, and one of the biggest integrated resort in Paranaque, which is also the home of the Manila’s Entertainment City.
Our journey began with a four-hour flight from KLIA. Significant “shaking” came on and off in plane due to turbulence. Almost spilt our drinks once. Haha. Felt relieved and excited when we finally landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The airport is pretty close to our final stop, Solaire Resort, which made the whole trip feel a lot smoother – Just so if you understand the traffic congestion in Metro Manila, which can be crazy sometimes.
We boarded a coach, and within less than half an hour, we were pulling up to the entrance of Solaire Resort.
First Impressions? Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This place is seriously stunning. Now we can understand why this multi-award-winning resort is celebrated for its excellence throughout the years, and just recently, having secured the Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star Excellence Award for eight consecutive years. Congratulations!
Strategically located in the Bay City area of Parañaque, also part of the Entertainment City, the resort covers a total of 8.3 hectares, comprises of luxurious resort-style accommodations, extensive dining options, gaming facilities, state-of-the-art lyric theatre, ballrooms, conference rooms, and more.
Just so if you are wondering, Entertainment City, or E-City is a project that was first envisioned by PAGCOR in 2002, a site that’s set to rival Las Vegas in the Philippines.
Solaire Resort features two main towers – Sky Tower and Bay Tower, putting up a total of 793 rooms, suites, and villas. There are 6 accommodation type in Sky Tower, namely Sky Studio, Prestige Suite Sky, Signature Suite, Sky Suite, Presidential Suite and Chairman Suite. While for Bay Tower, there’s Deluxe Room, Grand Suite, Premiere Suite, and Prestige Suite Bay, making up to a total of 300-rooms tower.
We checked into the Sky Studio in Sky Tower, a room just perfect for what we needed. It’s so spacious – 65 square meters of comfort in nice layout with floor-to-ceiling windows; well-sectioned for work and rest.
Our room was equipped with a 55-inch LED screen satellite TV, high-speed internet access, private minibar fridge, dressing table and other amenities.
We had two queen beds dressed in 500-thread count linens for soft, super comfy touch. Slip into the bed at the end of the day and sleep soundly till the next morning just feels so great!
Bathroom boasted a separate rain shower and bathtub, complemented by Acca Kappa body care, bath amenities, weighing scale, hair dryer.
Our stay was made lovely with delicious welcome desserts upon check-in, and thoughtful surprises each evening. From beautifully packaged chocolates and tasty biscuits to tropical fruits and unique beer, every detail was designed to make us feel special. The minibar was always well-stocked with tea and coffee, adding an extra touch of convenience.
The walk-in closet, with in-room safe for valuables.

Apart from our own room, we were grateful for a short tour to the Presidential Suite and Signature Suite at Sky Tower, as well as Premier Suite King at Bay Tower. Feel so WOW with the impressive size and bay view from window.
After we got settled in, we took a leisurely stroll around The Shoppes in Sky Tower. This indoor shopping street is famous for iconic luxury brands including Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Gucci, Cartier, Celine, Jo Malone London, Lacoste, Longines, Louis Vuitton, Mont Blanc, Lucerne, Omega, Pandora, Rimowa, Rolex, TAGHeuer, Tudor, Tiffany & Co, Yves Saint Laurent, Chow Tai Fook, BOSS, Burberry, and more.
We meandered past stunning displays, marveled at the finest accessories and exquisite collections from these high-end boutiques. Whether you’re eyeing a chic handbag or a timeless watch, The Shoppes offers a dazzling shopping experience that’s hard to resist.
After exploring The Shoppes, we headed over to the pool area to unwind.
Look at the huge swimming pool, with sparkling pool waters glistening under the warm Manila sun! It’s easy to see why the pools are such a beloved feature at Solaire – and no reason for not having a dip here!
In fact, the pools are not just a place to cool off. They’re a part of the Solaire mystique, designed for both socializing and serene downtime. You can spent a couple of blissful hours lounging in a private cabana, which offered a plush and shaded retreat from the sun. Or, get a cocktail in hand and feel the gentle lapping of the pool water. Enjoy the sunset, feel the tranquility.
The Solaire Gym – equipped with the latest and most advanced gym equipment from Technogym, an award-winning Italian manufacturer recognized for producing premium-grade and bio-mechanically precise workout equipment.
As the day began to wind down, it was time to savor a delicious dinner. The resort boasts an impressive array of restaurants, each offering its own unique flavor and ambiance. Visited one of Solaire’s renowned dining option, Yakumi, for Japanese food. Great experience, and we are excited to see what culinary delights awaited us for the next 2 days. Will share more about this soon!
Back to our room, where greeted by another lovely touch from the resort – a beautifully arranged turndown service. The room was softly lit, and a small treat to enjoy before bed. Good night!
