Not sure how many more new cafes will continue to pop up in Petaling Street area, but the latest one at Jalan Tun H S Lee – DoDoo Kitchen X VCR Bakehouse, proves to be a noteworthy one.
DoDoo Kitchen is a restaurant focuses on lunch and dinner, setting the right mood and ambience for casual, intimate dining while VCR Bakehouse on the other hand, is of totally different theme.
Staircases fully painted in pastel blue leading you upstairs, welcoming you with fun, cheerful interior filled with photography corners for your OOTD. In fact, a space that is not-so-VCR, different from other VCR Cafes that lean towards modern, industrial design.
Food & Beverage Menu
Bold move, but doesn’t fall short in style, same goes to the quality – great as usual. VCR Bakehouse Petaling Street menu featuring light offerings including their famous croissant, Pusing, cakes, canele and other freshly made pastry.
Ordered latte, ready to pay an RM15 but it is priced at RM11. Feeling glad that finally having a good coffee at reasonable price. Recently, many cafes have been charging RM14-RM15 for a normal latte, some beyond, and yet, with pretty meh in taste. We don’t mind paying more for a good coffee, but always ended up disappointed, especially in some of the new cafes in town.
Coffee is served in takeaway cups, to fit the cafe’s concept? Had Matcha Canele too. Recommended.
Another noteworthy part, the skylight! Really love how the skylight creates the “bringing blue sky into your home” idea. Saw a similar one at Flint The Curve too few weeks ago. Guess we will be seeing more and more installation like this in upcoming cafes.
Would love to return and try out DoDoo Kitchen’s pasta, risotto, steak, wine, tapas. Do note that DoDoo Kitchen accept reservation and very limited walk-in customers only.
