The plus point of staying in Malaysia – we are spoilt with choices whenever it comes to what to eat, be it breakfast, lunch and dinner, or even supper. We can enjoy from nasi lemak to mee hoon goreng, roti canai, noodle soup, kuih; as well as modern brunch platter, pastry, etc., at modern cafe. Not to forget, dim sum, which is also a crowd favourite.
We recently check out a price-worthy dim sum concept by Red Chinese Cuisine Restaurant, Pullman KLCC. It is all-you-can-eat dim sum, available only on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday.
You will given 2 menu sheets, that covers an array dim sum and Red Cuisine’s signature wok-fried delights, soup, rice, noodles; as well as dessert. Over 50 selections. All you need to do is just tick the food you would love to try, and pass to the staff. The dim sum list is categorized into steamed dim sum, deep fried dim sum, congee, rice rolls, Chinese sweets. While another page of the menu highlights the hotel’s popular delicacies, such as Cantonese Roasted Duck with Chinese Herbs, Garlic Marinated Roasted Crispy Chicken with Wasabi Dip, Wok Fried Sliced Lamb with Cumin, Chilli and Corriander Leaves, Wok-friend Beef & Capsicum, and the list continues.
Dim sum at Red Cuisine Pullman KLCC are pork-free, equally delicious. From the evergreen Har Gau, Siew Mai, Glutinous Rice with Chicken and Mushroom, Yam Puffs, Barbecued Chicken Bun to more interesting choice like Nyonya-style Dumpling filled with Shrimp & Chicken, we enjoy almost every item served.
Our top favourites are Wok-fried Rice Noodles and Stir-Fried Loh Bak Gou. Wok hei loaded, full flavours. Love the chicken floss topping on the Wok-fried Raddish Cake with XO Sauce, as it adds a unique, subtle sweetness that elevates the overall taste of the loh bak gou. To be honest, Wok-fried Rice Noodles is a wrong order. We actually wanted to order Steamed Rice Rolls with Barbecued Chicken and Shrimp Roe, but accidentally ticked at another box. Glad that it is so good, but could be better if the serving is smaller as we had a hard time finishing the whole plate. Hahahahaha. No regret with this wrong order, but we are too full to had the Steamed Rice Roll by then. Will save for next visit.
Personally we recommend their fried dim sum too. Crispy Bean Curd Rolls filled with Prawns and Cheese, Shrimp Dumplings served with Wasabi Dressing, Crispy Fish Paste Ball with Mayonnaise – can’t go wrong.
Despite being buffet-style dim sum, Red Cuisine Pullman KLCC does not skimp on the quality. We had fresh, large shrimp for har kaw; generous Sea Bird’s Nest for Mini Custard Egg Tart, Dumpling with flavourful, meaty filling, just to name a few. Hearty portion too. So suggest to order moderately to minimize wastage. Visit with friends and family for merrier dim sum brunch session, and share more food together.
For dessert, we had Chilled Dragon Fruit and Sago with Cream, Red Bean Soup with Lotus Seeds and Mandarin Skin ( Must-order!), Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Sweet Longan & Osmanthus, Deep Fried Glutinous Rie Balls with Pandan Lotus Psate, Salted Egg Ice-Cream with Red Bean Paste, Chilled Sea Coconut with Ginseng and Red Dates.
