Day 7 – Ginseng outlet & Cosmetic Duty Free Shop – Lunch Ginseng Chicken Soup- Hanbuk Experience – Gyeongbokgung – Myeong Dong Shopping
Michelin Star-awarded, century old Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup Restaurant!
Our meal began with a tiny glass of ginseng wine, followed by a hearty bowl of ginseng chicken, immersed in pipping hot, comforting soup. Break open the chicken to reveal glutinous rice within – plump, well-soaked up with flavours of the soup. Awesome.
Next, Hanbuk experience at 10,000won!
OK mou. Hahahaha. Couldn’t stop laughing seeing each other in this traditional costume.
Please layer more beneath your hanbuk if you decided to experience it in late autumn and winter. It was very windy during the day we visited Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁, but we could hardly find a place to “hide” when we “beh tahan”. Hint: There is a café where you can sneak in for coffee and some warmth though.
Back to the hotel and yay! Shopping time.
Passed by this beautiful café. No reason for not going in ya? No regret coz’ the real good coffee here!
Myeong-dong Cathedral 서울 명동성당, the iconic landmark in Myeongdong. It is the first Gothic building ever built in Korea, an important cultural property that was designated as the country’s historic site No. #258 of on 22 November 1977.

Myeong Dong shopping streets are very much like our KL Bukit Bintang. Lively, hustle, filled with a wide variety of beauty and cosmetic brands, boutique outlets, etc. Main streets are attractive, but small alleys are worthwhile too!
You can find a lot of barbecue restaurants and eateries highlighting on local Korean cuisines. Most menu have English and Chinese. Plus, some of the staffs can speak Mandarin. So no worry on communication barrier when dining in MyeongDong.
For FILA fans, grab a pair or two of sport shoes. So cheap, almost half of the price comparing to Malaysia.
AHC, Innisfree, Laneige, The Face Shop, Etude House, Espoir, Banila & Co., Holika Holika, Nature Republic, Top 10, H&M and more – shop till you drop.
Andong Jjimdak 안동찜닭 for dinner. Didn’t get to try this during our trip in Seoul few years back but yes for this round. Straightforward menu and ordering – Pick from either Braised Boneless Chicken, Braised Chicken with Vegetables or Braised Chicken with Seafood. Then opt for mild, less spicy or spicy version.
A large pan of chicken stewed with potato, noodles, leeks, mushroom and carrot, in Ganjang Korean Soy Sauce. Taste wise, like our Chinese Braised Chicken with Potato that mama always cook for us back at home. Not bad, but not outstanding either. Comfort food that goes well with beer and soju.

Day 8 – Tteokboki Buffet – Incheon International Airport – KLIA
Last day in Korea. Weather was so cold at -2°C we wished we could just stay indoor. Lol.
Itinerary today was simple. Morning shopping for gut health products, followed by a short walk around Hongdae, tteokbokki lunch and headed off to airport.
Hongdae Dookki 두끼/兩餐, probably the happiest meal we had throughout the trip. Affordable in price too! This eat-all-you-can tteokbokki restaurant offers sauces in various spiciness, where diners get to customize according to their own liking.
More than 20 types of ingredients, noodles, eomuk and hot food to choose from the buffet line. Drinks are included too.
DIY your own sauces, add vege, mushroom, rice cakes, fish cake, etc. Stir, cook and start eating! Dookki 두끼 means two meals – Enjoy tteokbokki as “first meal”, then add noodles or rice as “second meal”.
Ordered double cheese ring for gooey cheesy stretchy fun.

Hongdae shopping district, one of our favourite places in Seoul. Near to Hongik University, popular among students. Do come after 11AM, as most shops will only opened after this hour. But night life here is amazing with plenty of food options, street performances and shopping. Many shops are still brightly lit even past midnight.
Last one to intro! – This Mint Mocha in Incheon Airport. Taste so nice as they use fresh mint instead of artificial flavouring. Very refreshing, pairing well with our mocha frappe.
Is time to say goodbye. Huge thanks to our tour guide, Mr Vincent and Mr KG Tang tour leader from Apple Vacation. We have learnt a lot from them throughout the trip. T.T
Will come back again for the beautiful autumn of Korea! More shopping too of course!
