Vintry has always be in one of our top picks when comes to pork dishes. Their smoky, finger licking good pork ribs is memorable, and their delicious Tom Yum Spaghetti with Tiger Prawns still linger in our mind after long. This time, we venture into Ribs by Vintry, another joint by Vintry which has a different menu from Vintry, but serves equally delicious porky dishes.
Beef Carpaccio (RM25.00)
Our meal began with Beef Carpaccio, a wonderful Italian starter that has raw beef slices dressed with shaved Parmesamn cheese, lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil. Superthin and easily melt in mouth.
Vintry Roast Pork (RM8/100g)
Despite the constant reminder of healthy living with less oily, skinless meat, it is difficult to resist a plate of good roasted pork- crispy crackling skin with a layer of creamy fat beneath, beautifully set on succulent ‘three layers’ meat. To us, the crispy cracking skin yields a major textural pleasure, having only the meat and leaving the skin piling at the side of the plate is definitely a no no.
Grilled Portobello Mushroom (RM29.00)
Recommended for mushroom lover, for you will get the satisfaction of tucking in portobello mushroom that is packed with juiciness. Sauce drizzled over is light, yet manage to add a herby and tangy sensation.
The Duck Rilettes (RM26.00)
Duck Rilettes( Pronounced as ree-yet) is rather interesting, having duck leg mashed into coarse pate to create a rich, creamy texture, but still offers a soft bites. Almost like a tuna spread, so it is best to pair over with toasted bun.
Spicy Chilli Mussel
The girl usually doesn’t give a try to mussels, but this chilli mussel seems to be an exception. It is so plump without any mushy taste, and heavily coated in red hot gravy with lots of chopped garlic, giving extra fiery kick to the overall flavour. Beware on chilli paddy, as we mistakenly treated them as spring onion for garnishing.
Chef Pasta (RM36.00)
Tomato base spaghetti tossed with Taiwanese sausages, bacon, onions, mushrooms, and pork croutons. Great for its mouthful of texture, and the dry and crisp pork croutons with an ooze of oil is much raved about, as we don’t find this in our pasta frequently.
Sakura Pork Steak
Special of the day, Sakura Pork Steak. Nicely grilled and laid with cubed apple, the steak is on the lean side, so expect more chews for your meat but pairing it with the apple sauce is just good to complement- A fruity touch interlayering between savoury munch.
Vintry’s Rosemary Baked Chicken (RM36.00)
A safe and standard dish for those who prefer to have poultry dish on your visit. Chicken leg is baked to golden brown, drench with chanterella mushroom cream and served. Simple dish but posseses all the criteria for a good baked chicken- tenderly soft meat that goes more flavousome with rich, creamy sauce.
Braised Beef Ribs (RM69.00)
While pork is the main attraction in Ribs by Vintry, their Braied Beef Ribs are not to be missed. Braised with red wine and herbs for hours, the meat is soften into easily-fall-off-the-bone state, deeply moistured with thick brown gravy to render a pleasant munch.
BBQ Pork Ribs (RM49.00)
The all time favourite in Ribs By Vintry, must try and hard to go wrong with. Perfectly grilled to result in a slightly charred surface while locking the juiciness and tenderness of meat, it is just so alluring. Will not regret ordering this.
Rosemary Baked Baby Iberico (RM79.00)
Another porkilious dish with baby Iberico glazed in honey and rosemary, promoting a hint of sweetness and herby flavours. Served along with baked potato and garden salad.
Rum & Raisin Waffle (RM19.00)
Freshly made waffle sprinkled with raisin steeped in rum, crowned with vanilla ice cream and drizzle with salted caramel. A dessert with mixed elements, meant to be savour slowly to discover the hidden flavours.
Molten Chocolate Cake (RM18.00)
The girl never get bored with Molten Chocolate Cake, and she enjoys having thick, rich, and chocolaty melted chocolate sauce oozing out as the cake is cut through, then immediately scoop it together with the warm chocolate cake and pop into mouth. So sinfully delicious.
Chocolate Brownie (RM14.00)
Molten Chocolate Cake is so good, ended up this chocolate brownie is shadowed. Their recipe formulated a crisp edge brownie with extra dense texture, almost bringing a cross between cake and shortbread.
