The first time we saw Tamayaki was after a fulfilling meal at E.A.T food village Publika. Their cute logo and pinkish deco was so attractive, making us stop by at their kiosk, questioning if our stomach still had space to fit them in or not. And, we left. Second time was at Sunway Pyramid, again, we stop by and left. Too many good food, too little stomach.
When we met their outlet third time at Times Square, we dig out money and place an order. At last.
Being a kiosk that specialized in Takoyaki, of course they have lots of takoyaki flavours to choose from-Shrimp & Crab Stick,Octopus & Cod, Juicy Beef Cube,Giant Octopus, Cod Ball & Crab Stick, Seasoned Baby Octopus, Double Ebiko, Squid & Shellfish, Mentaiko & Cheese, Crunchy Cuttlefish, Chikuwa & Cheese, Grilled Unagi, Chicken Sausege & Cheese, Sweet Shrimp & Menataiko, Sweet Shrimp & Cheese. All these flavours not only brings a twist from the traditional flavours, but also carefully combined to suit the local palates.
We went on the safer flavour – The sausage & Cheese. Got a token with number, we’re on number 52. The staff will call up the number, after the order for the respective number is ready.
Served in a cute box, there’s four takoyaki balls in a serving. The big nicely done round takoyaki was beautifully topped with bonito flakes, and drizzled with savory sauce.
Took a large bite into the takoyaki revealing the generously filling of cheese, sausage, and cabbage. A satisfactory of creaminess and flavorfulness.
To compare it with takoyaki from Jusco, Tamayaki’s fillings focus more on ingredients rather than the flour itself.
A serving of RM6.80 is good enough to fill up our hungry stomach (Maybe we are small eaters). But we still recommend you to share with friends if you are having it after a fulfilling meal.
