Tamarind Restaurants by Samadhi, the popular KL dining destinations which consists of Tamarind Hill, Tamarind Springs and NEO Tamarind is introducing a new dining concept under its belt, named The Terrace@Tamarind Springs.
Located within the same compound with Tamarind Springs in Taman TAR Ampang Kuala Lumpur, The Terrace offers one-of-its-kind steamboat experience that you can hardly get elsewhere. Imagine having stylish Thai hotpot in a contemporary, elegant settings, but stays close to the nature with a scenic jungle-luxe, mountain water flowing through green forest, and a breath of fresh air. Certainly a perfect spot, be it for corporate gathering or romantic couple dinner.
Elevating authentic Thai cuisine to distinctive flavours, The Terrace hot pot & grill menu covers unique Thai soup bases, platters of freshly grilled seafood, and not forgetting – traditional Thai appetizers such as Pad Kra Pao or Stir Fried Chicken With Basi, Som Tam Salad or Spicy & Tangy Salad made from Unripe Papayas and Tod Mun Pla or Thai Fish Cake, just to name a few.
The Terrace Hot Pot Experience
There are 4 types of soup base bases crafted by Executive Chef Somkuhan Wandee. A pot is served to every two guests, where diners can choose from Namya Kaknomjin, Tom Yam, Tom Kah and Clear Chicken Soup. Our favourite goes to Namya Kaknomjin, a signature soup prepared from fresh Snakehead Murrel Fish and Red Curry Spices, akin to our laksa but less sourish. Best with thin rice noodles.
You can’t go wrong with Tom Yum soup, as Tamarind Restaurants has one of the best Thai Tom Yum in KL. Bold, spicy and sour helmed with herbs goodness. Try out Tom Kah if you like your soup base rich, as this soup combines chicken and coconut cream for a creamy, dynamic flavours. Both soups are superb with vermicelli noodles.
For steamboat ingredients, diners can choose from ala-carte menu. Choices are plenty, ranging from seafood like prawns, fish, mussels, squid, clams; meat including beef, chicken; vegetables such as mushrooms, broccoli, lettuce, corn and cabbage.
Grilled Seafood
What makes a meal at The Terrace@Tamarind Springs merrier will be the grill section! Pick your own seafood and staffs will cook it ala-minute for you. Pipping hot, aromatic, fresh from the grill. Of all items we’ve tried during our visit.
We enjoyed grilled squid and clams the most. The grilled squid was really delicious, just nicely cooked, not rubbery at all. Clams were juicy, mussels are equally great.
Sustainable Dining at Tamarind Restaurants by Samadhi
We were told that Tamarind restaurants practice purchasing and consuming local ingredients to support the community businesses, reduce carbon emissions associated with food transportation. They also engage boutique organic farms that deliver livestock production without the use of genetically modified organisms, antibiotics and growth hormones. A great effort in helping to achieve holistic production of vegetables, fruits and meats.
Not to forget the desserts after the meal, Mango Sticky Rice and Red Ruby Water Chestnuts with Jackfruits served in Iced Coconut Milk
Therefore, diners are served with the very best seasonal and organic produce, successfully combining sustainability and social commitment with exceptional dining and personal service. Expect line-to-table seafood and fresh catches from traditional fishing communities. Some insight that made us felt that our dinner at The Terrace wasn’t just a come-and-go meal, but becoming more meaningful and memorable.
Do come for hot pot and grill seafood meal at The Terrace@ Tamarind Springs. The restaurant also has set menu starting from RM185++ per person for gatherings of not more than 30 people.
