Soul Sacrifice at Desa Pandan, Kuala Lumpur and Pretty on Plate in Taman Maluri, Cheras – blog about our quick visit of these two new cafes located near to our house in one post.
Soul Sacrifice, a surprise opening to us, as finally there’s good coffee that we can reach within 5 minutes of walking from our staying place. It is located next to Desa Pandan post office, same row with Quan Coffee House.
Fusion food with a touch of creativity, beautiful plating takes the limelight, featuring selections like Pumpkin Curry Pasta with Grilled Chicken Breast, Cherry Tomatoes, Grated Parmesan Cheese and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds; Mediterranean Beef Kebab with Quinoa Tabouleh, Toasted Flat Bread, Garlic Sauce; Scotch Egg on Whipped Sweet Potato, a bed of cream leak sauce, Sambal Drizzle; Saute Minced Lamb wrapped in Omelette, served with Toast, Quinoa Tabouleh, Garlic Sauce. From what we read from Instagram reviews, most dishes in Soul Sacrifice have been receiving good comments since opening. We’re yet to check them out as kitchen already closed when we reached last Sunday. Currently main courses are served till 4PM. Coffee and cakes available till 7PM.
Glad to savour a decent cup of flat white, accompanied by Cendol Cake. The right bitter and sweet pairing. Pretty fun to taste on this local dessert in cake form, laced with coconut flavour, better if sweetness could be tuned down. Would try out their savoury menu in the next visit.

Up next we have Pretty on Plate, a cafe located in Amaya Maluri Serviced Apartment shop lots, right beside AEON Maluri. Very quiet during our visit, no dine in customers but we did see patrons coming in on and off to collect their cake orders.
Yeap, the man behind this cafe specializes in customized cakes which are beautiful enough to cater for your lovely birthday, baby full moon or any events. For dine in, Pretty On Plate is prides for their artisan cakes, biscuits, macarons, filled brioche and some other signature desserts.
For POP brioche, flavours go from Mango Compote Vanilla Custard with Yogurt Ice Cream, Cookie Crumbs Chocolate Filling with Double Chocolate Ice Cream, Graham Crackers Vanilla Filling with Yogurt Ice Cream to daily special – Red Bean Matcha Vanilla Filling with Green Tea Ice Cream during our visit.
Strawberry Tart, Key Lime Tart,Oreo Nutella Cheese Mousse, Earl Grey Passion, Petit Antoine, Chocolate Creme Brulee, Vanilla Cheesecake Signature Dessert Platter take the limelight sweet treat counter. Savoury choices are available too, covering from Pesto Chicken Sour Dough Panini with Salad & Chips, Mushroom & Sundried Tomatoes Sour Dough Panini with Salad & Chips, Chicken Lasagna with Salad, Homemade Mushroom Soup & Garlic Bread, to name a few. For beverage, opt for coffee, tea or cold pressed juices.
