Fluffed Cafe & Dessert Bar at Taman Paramount PJ needs no further introduction among cafe hoppers in Klang Valley. While the adorable cloud with hands and legs logo is enough to make Fluffed memorable, what makes this cafe truly stands out is their desserts that have caught the heart of many sweet tooth out there.
If you wondered why takes us so long to visit this place, perhaps distance is one of the reasons. But we glad that we did. We were having breakfast at Restaurant Seaview last week. Summergirl was so happy seeing Fluffed Cafe is located just 2 minutes walk from the kopitiam. She couldn’t stop nagging beside Summerkid while he was giving full concentration to his bowl of flavourful Apollo pork noodles and the not so tasty plus super oily char koay teow: “Later we go Fluffed OK? OK? OK? Don’t eat so much lah, later still need eat waffle and coffee de leh “. Imagine his don’t-disturb-my-breakfast face. Hahaha.
Fluffed Cafe opened from 12noon onwards so we waited for the clock to tick 12, then “stormed” inside. Surprised that customers began coming in and within one hour, two third of the cafe was occupied. A promising sign that dessert here must be good!
Coffee, waffles, cakes and ice cream are highlights on Fluffed Cafe menu. Waffles are named after some of the famous fairy tales or cartoon characters – Pooh Bear’s Favourite, Alice in Wonderland, Big Grey Wolf, Red Riding Hood, The Monkey King, Snoopy & Peanut, Peter Pan. Pooh Bear relates to honey, Peter Pan to green colour, Red Riding Hood is something sweet & red. Got it? LOL.
Alice In Wonderland RM19
Fluffed serves up waffles which has a thicker crispy outer layer, but doesn’t short of “fluff” at the center. Topped with a scoop of lavender blueberry ice cream, blueberry compote, sprinkled with butter crumble for crunchiness, a good decoration of fresh berries for sharp, tangy taste, as well as for a more eye-pleasing finish.
What we loved most is the generous scoop of Lavender Blueberry Ice Cream, rich and creamy, laced with floral hints of lavender . But it may be an acquired taste for some but it marriage well.
Pink Latte RM11
Apart from the classic latte, cappuccino, long black, mocha; tea, chocolate, green tea latte, rosecino, chai latte, lavender latte, and soda also earns a space on the list. Ordered pink latte, a hot beverage helmed with natural goodness of red yeast rice. Pinkish, sweet and milky. Nice but we suggest to have tea or coffee to pair with your waffle to balance the flavours, as pink latte is naturally sweet.
Overall review: Service is friendly, environment is welcoming, for food ice cream is must-try, really good. We felt like trying out their cakes like Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Banana Cake, Rose Lychee Cloud Cake and so forth, which are all homemade. Just we were still full from our brunch, next time maybe.
