Wawa Land Cafe ( WaWa樂園松餅店 ), waffle specialist from Taiwan is now opened in IOI Boulevard, Puchong Jaya, Malaysia.
Wawa Land Cafe proudly makes its way to Malaysia last June, setting up first outlet at IOI Boulevard, Bandar Puchong Jaya. This is Wawa Land forth overseas franchise after their success in China, Macau and India.
Back in Taiwan, Wawa Land started as a small kiosk named Waffle Waffle! 菓將鬆餅, focusing on takeaway waffles. Feedback from customers are so good that the brand expanded to Waffle Waffle 2.0, which is WaWa Land – a cafe with proper seating, full menu and even mini playground for the kids.
Wawa Land Malaysia is located same row with Sushi Mentai IOI Boulevard, next to U Dessert. A spacious corner shop, putting together dark grey floor tiles, white walls, wooden furnishing in a light filled space. Minimal decorations with adorable bear GouGou菓菓 , symbol of Wawa Land adorning the walls, pillow cover, cups and so forth. Spotted the “mini hut” too. Only three, so pray for your luck if you wished to sit in one of them during your visit.
Mixed Fruit Waffle (RM16.80 ala carte/ RM21.80 classic / RM28.80 premier)
Most items on Wawa Land Malaysia menu is same as Taiwan, except for few such as Strawberry Waffle Box, Wawa’s Sizzling Pancake, Wawa’s Sizzling Toast, and Chocolate Waffle Box. More gimmick from the classic waffle, well-loved by Malaysian and now their best sellers too. Ordering is simple. Pick your waffle, then select either Ala-carte, Classic or Premier. Like buying McD with only burger or in set of fries and drinks.
For Ala-carte, only waffle.
For Classic Set, you get waffle + choice of classic drink (black tea, milk tea, lemon tea).
For Premier Set, enjoy waffle + any drink besides Classic drink (coffee, tea, mocktails, etc.).
Of course, the price goes up together with your “add on”. After deciding what to eat, proceed to the counter and tell the staff your table number + your order. Food will be sent over.
A long list of sweet and savoury waffle, with price as low as RM10.80 for ala-carte Maple Syrup Fresh Cream Waffle to RM18.80 for ala-carte Fresh Mango Condensed Milk Waffle. More expensive for Strawberry Waffle Box and Chocolate Waffle Box at RM25.80 for ala-carte. Each waffle is freshly made upon order, using 100% milk without adding any water. Try not to compare WaWa waffle with those from Inside Scoop or The Owls Cafe, as Wawa Land Cafe offers Taiwanese waffle, which is more compact in texture, but still good for being fluffy inside, crispy outside when eaten hot.
Japanese Curry Chicken Rice RM13.80 ala-carte/ RM18.80 classic/ RM25.80 premier
Had Japanese Curry Chicken Rice too. Decent version, ideal for diners looking for rice dishes before continue with Wawa Land waffle as dessert. Bolognese Spaghettie, Taiwanese Style Three Cup Chicken RIce, Baked Cheese Curry Chicken Rice, Japanes Curry Chicken Rice with Chicken Chop, Beef Pepperoni Carbonara Spaghetti are few lunch and dinner main course options.
Cappuccino RM12
Drinks in Wawa Land Cafe is worth mentioned, especially Mocktails – Lime Citron Soda, Apple Soda, Peach Soda, Blue Fizzy, Wawa Punch. Cappuccino we had wasn’t good, because their barista was off for a holiday during our visit. Besides coffee, enjoy also Tea, Mixed fruit Juice, Fruit Shake in different flavours and varieties.
Overall review: Total spending in Wawa Land Puchong is RM42.60 for Mixed Fruit Waffle + Cappuccino + Japanese Curry Chicken Rice. Those who love their waffle in dense, cake-like texture may check out this Taiwanese style waffle. Heard there is another Taiwan Waffle Shop named Perfume Dance Cafe opened in IOI City Mall, but not planning to visit so soon yet, because it is really far away from where we stay. @.@
