Lemon Tart
Back in 2002, 1 Cafe started out as a humble shop specializing in take away coffee. They aim to offer high quality drinks at affordable price, allowing everyone to enjoy fresh coffee comparable with gourmet coffee, but below RM10. Response was really good, and they expanded to serve breads, cakes and dessert to pair with their coffee.
1 Cafe successfully ventures from Taiwan to China, then towards South East Asia to have franchise in Singapore and Malaysia. But we didn’t realize it already opened an outlet in Kuchai Lama KL. Visited only after more than 1 year the cafe is opened, and found out food and drinks here are really good. Seems to be another noteworthy cafe that does not receive as much attention as other cafes in similar concept. Noticed them too late. But, better late than never.
1 Cafe is one of the very few bakery cafes you will encounter in Kuchai Lama neighbourhood, as most eateries here are Chinese restaurants and steamboats places. Grab-and-go coffee or bread in the morning for quick breakfast, clients meet up, friends gathering are all ideal here, seeing that food & beverage are reasonable to young and old.
Caramel Macchiato RM9.00
Coffee is their highlight, prepared from freshly grind Arabica coffee beans. Over 10 types to choose from – 1Cafe Speciality, Cafe Americano, Jelly De Cafe, Milk Cafe Americano, Coffee Latte, Cappuccino, Ristretto Coffee Latte, Caramel Macchiato, Salty Foamed Milk Cafe, Tiramisu Coffee, Vanilla/Hazelnut/Caramel flavour infused- latte and Mochaccino.

Crazy Lemon RM7.50
Customers who prefer milk-free beverage can opt for Classic Black Tea, Classic Green Tea, Dongding Oolong Tea, Lemon Green Tea, Pomelo Green Tea, Passionfruit QQ Green Tea, Honey Lemon with Aloe Vera, Lemon Roasted Tea from Fresh Tea selections. Apart from this, we highly recommended their newly launched Crazy Lemon, a drink that gathered juices of one whole lemon in one cup, plus sour plum to balanced up the flavour. Only RM7.50 for satisfying sip of very-lemony goodness.

Breads and buns selection in 1 Cafe, needless to say, are all tempting. Sweet and savoury, freshly baked, beautifully lined up in the counter. Summergirl aka the bread lover will surely pile up each item into the tray if wallet and stomach allowed. LOL.

Rose Cranberry Cheese RM4.80
We sampled few of the items and personally like their Rose Cranberry Cheese. Dense but fluffy soft bread, generously filled with cheese and tinge of rose cranberry aroma. Our new favourite “berry cheese” range asides from the Blueberry Cheese Bun Summergirl loves to purchase from Berry’s Cake Shop.
Desserts and cakes score a good range too, all price within RM10. Devil Tear is the must try – Rich, thick chocolaty, made using imported chocolate. A quality and taste that is way beyond the price at RM8.50.
Double Chocolate Cheese (RM9) is not bad too, but a tad too rich for our liking. We prefer Mango Oat more. Refreshing, helmed with layers of textures by putting together soft sponge, mousse and mango jam with a touch of tastebud tickling sourness.
