The Ice Cream Bar, an ice cream parlour owned by famous Inside Scoop bravely ventures into Desa Sri Hartamas KL, even though Honey Creme soft serve nearby is seen surviving hardly. There’s literally no customer in Honey Creme when we passed by one Saturday afternoon. And so Summerkid raised this question: Is it good for The Ice Cream Bar to open here?
Well, we are not the suitable person to judge on this though, but we always have confidence with Inside Scoop, despite the not-so-good experience at Inside Scoop Damansara Jaya last year. Their artisanal ice cream has been really awesome all this while. We believe this brand new shop in Desa Sri Hartamas with brand new name will receive positive feedback too.
The Ice Cream Bar is located below Izzatso Hair Studio. Same row with Chapter One Bsitro & Bar, near to Naughty Nuri’s, few doors away from the alcoholic drinks whole seller shop. Differ from Inside Scoop, The Ice Cream Bar focuses more on something that we love -ice cream with alcohol (!!! ^.^v ) while keeping some of their popular, alcoholic-free premium ice cream.
Half of the selections here are alcohol -infused ice cream, including Whisky Cream, XO Cranberry, Bailey’s, Whisky & Nuts, Smoked Cognac and Beer. For non-alcohol ice cream, enjoy Dragonfruit Sorbet, teh tarik, Kopi Peng, Almond Butterscotch, Mint Straccciatella, White Truffle Chocolate with Sea Salt, Pistachio and Hazelnut.
Summergirl had her all-time-favourite dark chocolate into upgraded version – Smoked Cognac. So good with deep chocolaty, lightly blended with the taste of brandy.
Summerkid went for Whisky Cream, which fell more on creamy honey like, a tad too sweet for Summergirl’s liking but well-suit Summerkid’s palate.
Most flavours in The Ice Cream Bar are considered Premium and Signature ice cream, hence there will be additional charges of +RM1.50 or +RM2.00 each scoop on top of the RM8 single scoop price / RM13.50 for double scoop / RM18.50 for triple scoop.
Guests can add +RM2.00 for handmade ice cream cone, RM14.50 for single / RM18.50 for double / RM22.50 for triple buttermilk waffles. The Ice Cream Bar menu covers also coffee, craft beers, soft drink, mineral water and root beer float, tea (passion fruit, earl grey, english breakfast, green tea) for beverage.
Personal review: Charming cafe with minimalism interior, better concept for their ice cream. Service is friendly. Not crowded during our visit in late afternoon. You can also take away 650ml ice cream (2 flavours) at RM41.40 and 400ml (1 flavour) at RM30.50.
