La Mian with Sliced Pork in Signature Pork Bone Soup
猪骨汤鲜肉卷拉面 RM16.80 (*teatime set price)
We were told that La Mian with Sliced Pork in Signature Pork Bone Soup is one of the most popular orders in Paradise Dynasty, thanks to the richly flavoured, cloudy white broth boiled for long hours using pork bone. This dish reminds us on Japanese Ramen, but still calls for some difference on the tender pork slices, and ramen texture.
La Mian with Minced Meat and Mushroom Sauce
京味炸酱拉面 RM16.80 (*teatime set price)
Personally, we enjoy La Mian with Minced Meat and Mushroom Sauce more. The spicy-sweet gravy is the clear winner, thickly coated to each strand of the noodle, allowing us to enjoy the flavours, texture of meat and chopped mushroom along with the la mian all in one spoonful.
Shanghai Fried Rice
上海炒饭 RM16.80 (*teatime set price)
Appears in dark brown, Shanghai Fried Rice may not look appetizing, but it actually fares pretty well. A little sweet, helmed with aroma of preserved ham meat. Very similar to the style of fried rice Summergirl’s mum serves at home.
Yong Zhao Fried Rice
扬州炒饭 RM16.80 (*teatime set price)
Dynasty Signature Dishes:
Signature Dynasty Xiao Long Bao (8 flavours)
皇朝朝小笼包(八种口味)RM25.90
Apart from teatime special, we tried out few more dishes from Paradise Dynasty. Of course, needless to say, Signature Dynasty Xiao Long Bao in 8 colours is the must have. Each colour represents a flavour, from original to ginseng, cheese, truffle, garlic, crab roe, Foie Gras and Sze Chuan. Black Truffle Xiao Long Bao and Ginseng Xiao Long Bao are our top pick among all, where the former is laced with faint hint of earthy taste, and Chinese premium herb goodness for the later. Cheese sounds interesting but it blends so well with the filling that we could barely taste the cheesiness.
Chilled Sliced Pork in Minced Garlic and Soya Sauce
香辣蒜泥白肉 RM17.90
One of the crowd-favourites in Paradise Dynasty. Many order this along with the teatime special set. Sliced pork is chilled, wrapping julienne cucumber and topped with minced garlic, drizzle with soya sauce. Served cold, it gets the plus points for being refreshing, packed with juiciness from both meat and vegetable.
Radish Pastry
萝卜丝酥饼 RM9.90
Scrambled Egg White with Fish and Dried Scallop
芙蓉赛螃蟹 RM20.90
Scrambled Egg White with Fish and Dried Scallop is the most memorable dish we had tried from our last visit to Paradise Dynasty. Still good, but should have lessen the amount of vinegar poured over, slightly overpowered. Reminder, to eat this, break the egg yolk and swirl it around the edge of the plate. Do not stir the egg yolk directly with the crumbled egg white.
Deep-fried Diced Chicken in Szechuan Style
四川辣子鸡丁 RM20.90
Improved version Szechuan Style Deep Fried Diced Chicken, as toasted peanuts are added in for crunchy bite. Don’t get afraid with the word Szechuan and the large quantity of chillies showered over, as the spiciness level is rather acceptable, consider quite mild to us. But we like how the peppercorns leave in some bright spice aftertaste as we munch through the succulent chicken.
Sautéed Shredded Pork served with Chinese Flour Crepe
京酱肉丝 RM21.90
Summergirl loves all kinds of wraps hence sauteed shredded pork enveloped within Chinese flour crepe is definitely her favourite. Not too bad, flavourful fillings, just we are not too much a fan of raw onions. Perhaps will omit this ingredient next time. Also, better if we were served with some Hoisin sauce to spread on the wrap.
Glutinous Rice Dumplings in Fermented Rice Wine
桂花酒釀丸子 RM7.90
Had Glutinous Rice Dumplings in Fermented Rice Wine first time in Paradise Dynasty and never miss to get a bowl of this sweet soup as dessert every time we dine here. It may taste strange for some due to the fermented rice, but that is the aroma that we love.
Glutinous Rice Ball topped with Grated Nut
擂沙湯圓 (4粒) RM8.90
