UMAMEAT Steakhouse at Bukit Damansara Kuala Lumpur – a true hidden gem for delicious steak. We got to know about UMAMEAT from one of our friends, and glad that we checked this place out.
The restaurant was located in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur previously, and has shifted to Bukit Damansara now, continue serving awesome dishes using the same good old recipe. It is just few doors away from the famous Croisserie Cafe.
Straightforward menu, highlighting steaks focusing on various cuts that are bound to satisfy your carnivorous cravings. But that’s not all – they also offer an array of Small Plates, All Day Breakfast items, Pastas, Burgers, Sandwiches, Mains, Salads, and Sides. You can also purchase vacuum-packed fresh meat from their deli counter and cook at home, or get the kitchen to prepare for you.
For those who come with a bigger appetite, they’ve got something extra special – BIG EATERS menu. As the name suggests, this menu is designed for those who want more, featuring larger portions of meat dishes including Lamb Ribs at 500g, BBQ Beef Ribs at 800g, Grass Fed Ribeye at 800g, Grain Fed Ribeye at 800g, Wagyu Striploin in 1KG, Wagyu Tomahawk.
Mozzarella Sticks and Tempura Cauliflower
Ox Tongue
Our dinner began with a selection of Small Plates. We opted Ox Tongue (RM30) and Mozzarella Sticks and Tempura Cauliflower (RM15) only. Wagyu Croquettes, Lamb Stew, Beef Wraps, Buttermilk Wings, Spicy Kicap Wings, Honey Siracha Wings, Cheese Cauliflower all look promising too but we had to narrow down the choices and keep the rest for next visit. Lol.
Next, carbs. Choosing from the pasta offerings didn’t prove any easier. In the end we settled down with the classic Spaghetti Spicy Olio (RM25) with Vegetables for a more “balanced” meal, seeing that we will be trying out few meaty delights too. Surprisingly, this random choice turned out to be one of the best! Al-dente spaghetti, tossed in spicy, garlicky olive oil with lots of vegetables including zucchini, tomato, mushroom, chilli. High recommended. Slightly spicy but we wiped the whole plate clean. High recommended.
For those who can’t decide which steak to order, go for Steak Cafe De Paris. You wouldn’t be disappoint. Expertly grilled to medium rare using Josper Grill, the steak is so tender and juicy, flavours enhanced with classic French sauce served over. It comes complete with a side salad and shoestring fries, making it an absolute steal at the price of RM80.
Crispy Lamb Ribs
12 Hour Smoked Beef Brisket (RM50) arrived in a hearty portion, so much heartier than we expect. Beautiful layer of fat and lean meat bathed in richly flavored sauce, each bite carrying subtle hint of smokiness. Awesome.
In short, whether you are a steak connoisseur, meat lovers or simply on the hunt for good food on a normal day in Bukit Damansara area, UMAMEAT should be on your radar. Summergirl has been eyeing on their Burger & Sandwich section that offers Wagyu Burger, Classic Beef Burger with Fries, Steak Sandwich with Fries, Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich. Gonna sample them all!
