If you are looking for a Japanese restaurant in KL with price-friendly food, menu with something for everyone, along with casual izakaya vibes that will make you feels like you have been transported to Japan, then Teppan Sakaba at Faber Tower, Taman Desa could be right for you.
We always wanted to visit Teppan Sakaba after reading several positive reviews but our impromptu-dining-style doesn’t work at this place, especially during weekend dinner. So we make booking ahead at this restaurant for Summerkid’s dad birthday. Glad that it is a right choice.
Guess reaching early is the key. It was still empty when we arrived at 6PM.
Teppan Sakaba offers an extensive choices, ranging from all-time-favourite teppan signatures like Teppan Miso Cabbage Pork, Teppan Curry Eggplant, Teppan Garlic Fried Rice, Teppan Luncheon Fried Rice, Teppan Black Pepper Beef to Clam Sakamushi, Stir Fried Kidney, Salmon Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork,
Lots of delicious, substantial selections so even if you are here alone, or for quick, fuss-free meal, Teppan Sakaba has got you covered. You can order from Pork Katsudon, Chicken Katsudon, Teppa Karaage Chicken Curry Rice, Teppan Pork Katsu Curry Rice, Oyakodon, Tenjin Rice, Teppan Unagi Tama Don, Teppan Curry Beef Mince Omu Rice, etc. all seem promising. Suitable as personal meal, or sharing with friends and family.
Do not leave without trying their okonomiyaki – another signature at Teppan Sakaba. Osaka Bacon Okonomiyaki, Hiroshima Bacon Okonomiyaki, Hiroshima Seafood Okonomiyaki, Osaka Premium Seafood Bacon Okonomiyaki – you won’t go wrong with any of these. Too full for Pork Mince Dashimaki and Reversed Pork Belly Dashimaki. Will keep this for next round.
Accompany our meal with appetizers too. Gyoza is recommended, and you can also check out Crispy Chicken Skin, Chicken Karaage, Tebasaki Chicken Wing Garlic Shoyu, Pork Karaage, Crispy Pork Belly, Chicken Namban, Curry Poutine Fries, Assorted Tempura, and more.
Summergirl personally enjoy the Teppan Curry Eggplant. Potent flavours, suggest to go with a bowl of rice. They have skewers too, but we didn’t order any. In case you love beef on teppan-sizzling style, Teppan Sakaba’s Angus Hamburg Miso Stew, Beef Hamburg Curry Stew, Angus Sirloin Steak, Grain Fed Ribeye, Wagyu MB9 Ribeye might raise your interest.
