Kin Gyu Desa Sri Hartamas has always been on our recommended list when comes to Japanese restaurant suggestion for casual, family dining. Price is fairly affordable for the quality given, with worthy, interesting menu that covers from sushi, Japanese claypot rice, sukiyaki, shabu shabu, rice bowl, noodles, etc. – where, many of the items centered around wagyu beef.
Returned recently to check out one of their latest menu – Kin Gyu Wagyu Omakase. 9-course set featuring Kin Gyu signature dishes, at the price of only RM180++.
Begin with 3 Kinds of Appetizers
Followed by Clam Clear Soup,
Snow Crab Chawan Mushi,
Watercress & Arugula Salad
and Fried Shrimp Spring Roll. Our personal favourite are the Watercress & Arugula Salad and Snow Crab Chawanmushi. Love the crunch and freshness of the vegetable, with extra bites from beef slices. The latter was really smooth and jiggly, melt in mouth.
Here comes the Roasted Premium Sirloin Sushi. Thin slice, premium sirloin flash, flame-seared for seconds, rolled on sushi rice, finished with dollops on sauce.
Next up, much awaited 4 Kinds of Omakase Premium Wagyu Steak, specially selected by Japanese head chef. Staff showed us how to grill on the imported lava stone from Mt. Fuji, then we continue on our own. Slowly enjoy one by one.
Look at the beautiful marbling. And we love the portion too, just nice to fill our craving for A5 Japanese wagyu, at pocket-friendly price.
Grilled Wagyu Pot Rice – last savory course before dessert. Charcoal grilled wagyu beef slices, served on top of rice. Staff suggest us to try the original flavour of the wagyu rice, and then pour in Japanese dashi soup for a different flavour.
Yuzu and Match Ice Cream as dessert to wrap up our meal.
Personally, we really like this Wagyu Omakase. A set menu that fits Summergirl, for she is a small eater and likes to have a bit of everything in smaller portion. No complain, for the price is already kept very friendly with high quality Japanese wagyu included. You may want to add on few dishes from the menu too for a merrier meal. Come try, as we can’t assure the price would remain the same throughout the coming months. Or they might end the promotion anytime soon. =)
