Tai Er Suan Chai Yu now in Pavilion KL 太二酸菜鱼

Tai Er Suan Chai Yu, the well-known Chinese Sauerkraut Fish Restaurant is now in Pavilion KL!

From China to Malaysia – the famous Tai Er Chinese Sauerkraut Fish Restaurant (太二酸菜鱼) has finally here in Malaysia, opening their first outlet in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Heard that queue is crazy with reservations highly recommended for now, but should be easier to get a seat after all the festive seasons over.

Founded in 2015 with over 400 outlets in China, Tai Er aims to bring 3,000-year traditional Suancai culture to the world in an energetic and stylish way – from concept to food, service, and interior.  We have been hearing a lot about Tai Er Suan Cai Yu 太二酸菜鱼when they opened in Singapore, so happy that we can have it in KL now too!

Served in a huge bowl, this signature 酸菜鱼 highlights fork-tender fish slices, immersed in tummy-warming Suan Cai broth with pleasing spiciness and sourness that we both enjoyed. Flavourful and appetizing, best to go with a bowl of rice. The establishment places high effort in delivering premium quality suan cai – the soul of their suan cai fish. Painstaking process in making this star ingredient, with strict control on the humidity, temperature and pickling duration to ensure the best taste possible. The team has also gone through countless times of try & error before they come out with this legendary Suan Cai Fish. Each bowl is carefully prepared with standardized ratio, whereby they strictly adhere to the policy that –  no sourness and spiciness can be added/ reduced .

Another must-order here is La Zi Ji 辣子鸡, which is exclusively available only at Tai Er Kuala Lumpur outlet. Addictive bite-size chicken, juicy, not dry..

We also had the Beef Noodle with Sauerkraut 酸菜牛肉面. Springy noodle, pairing well with Suan Cai topping. Other items available on the menu are Si Chuan Dan Dan Noodle, Fried Chicken Wings, Seaweed Roll with Salted Egg Yolk, Egg Coated Glutinous Rice Rolls with Brown Sugar, just to name a few.

Love the Sun-dried Mandarin Orange Peel with Roselle Tea 陈皮洛神花茶 too. Complimentary, available free flow at the DIY tea counter. The golden rule : 2 pieces of Roselle Flower + 3 slices of Mandarin Orange Peel + warmth water at 60 to 70 degree celsius = lightly sweet, heart-warming tea. Very nice!

Do Look out for the hexagonal container on your table, which you can have fun drawing lucky lots. More thoughtful part – the restaurant provides charging port for your mobile devices!
