Jade Pavilion, inspired by the decadent and timeless gardens of Imperial China, puts on a palatial feast this Lunar New Year with set menus showcasing meaningful and significant ingredients of prosperity, longevity, good health, vitality, good fortune, family harmony, good luck and happiness.
Choose from a selection of six varieties of Auspicious Yee Sang – all abundantly overflowing with fresh and gourmet delicacies such as Soft Shell Crab, 16 Head Abalone, and Hokkigai.
The Prosperity Set Menu (priced at RM268 nett per person) offers 9 courses in a banquet style manner, starting with “Jade Pavilion” Salmon Yee Sang with Mini Cuttlefish and Young Mango. The Double Boiled 10 Head Abalone with Agaricus Blazei Mushroom and Fish Maw Soup is a traditional soup that soothes with its umami flavours.
Slow Oven Roasted Duck with Fragrant Scallion and Sesame-Hoisin Sauce follows, boasting a glossy, crispy caramel colored skin and juicy, moist duck meat. The three seafood dishes that follow in the Prosperity Set Menu are to attract abundance and good luck, encouraging one to ‘go with the flow’ in this year ahead – Sabah Wild-Caught Sea Grouper, steamed and served with Black Bean and Preserved Vegetables, as well as Steamed King Tiger Prawns with Chopped Garlic and Sweet Basil, and Braised Premium Dried Seafood with Sun Dried Oysters, Fatt Choy and Broccoli. The Wok-Fried Jasmine Rice with Crab Meat, Asparagus and Pine Nuts is full of ‘wok hei’ and a hearty culmination to this feast. To culminate the journey are two dessert courses – Double Boiled Papaya with Peach Resin and Red Dates, as well as an assortment of finely crafted Chinese New Year Pastries.
The Fortune Set (priced at RM328 nett per person) comprises of 8 luck-filled courses, starting with “Jade Pavilion” Yee Sang with Soft Shell Crab, Snow Pear and Crispy Fish Skin. The soup to follow is triple boiled Black Chicken Broth with Sun Dried Porcini Mushrooms, Supreme Fish Maw and luscious Australian Abalone – a clean, light and nourishing start.
Fresh wild-caught Soon Hock is served steamed with Ginger, Spring Onion and Soy Sauce – continuing on the light, clean flavour profiles to start off this menu journey. To follow is Braised Village Chicken with Sun-Dried Sea Treasure – tender and juicy.
Slow Oven Baked King Tiger Prawns with their red sheen, smothered in melted and toasted Mozzarella are a decadent touch to the menu;
which culminates with flavourful Slow Cooked Glutinous Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf and topped with fleshy, plump Alaskan Scallops.
Freshly baked Chinese New Year Pastries are the sweet finale to this sensational feast.
