Kooky Plate by Kooky Cream at Chow Kit KL – Food, coffee, dessert, now ready to serve
Spotted a side of wall printed with huge word “Kooky Plate” on our way to 103 Coffee Chow Kit the other day, and we guess this could prolly be the new venture of Kooky Cream – the master of handcrafted sweet treats. It was still under renovation that time, and we really looked forward to visiting this cafe. Fast forward to few weeks later, Kooky Plate is all ready to serve.
Bright, cheerful interior in wash white and wooden elements, contrasting with blue and blood orange hue that bring up the liveliness of the entire restaurant – just nice in a pleasant way, nothing overwhelmed.
As the name implies, Kooky Plate focuses more on savories food, putting together a lovely selections of main courses along with coffee and dessert to complete.
You can have Big Breakfast, Avocado Prawn Toast, Mash and Banger, Bread and Butter, Hashy Egg Sandiwch, Fritata, Truffled Cauliflaower Puree Benedict, Y So Cheezy Cheese Toastie, Berries Pancake, Peanut Butter Pancake from open till 3PM; as well as pasta like Aglio-Olio, Carbonara, Passata Al Gambas, Mala Pappa. Comfort food like Nasi Kerabu and Beef Ramen are heard delicious too.
Roasted Chicken Leg, Barramundi, Halibut, Fish & Chips, Cauliflower Steak, Miso Lamb make places on Kooky Plate menu too, suitable for lunch and dinner. Keep space for homemade dessert by the team too, with Top 3 recommendation being Berry Pavlova, Tiramisu and Caramel Pudding. More cakes from the counter chiller, available daily until sold out.
We visited twice, both times for only a quick coffee take out, as we were full from our meal at restaurants nearby. Will plan a visit at this place soon, hopefully.
