Guan’s KL – a place where traditional kopi and thirdwave coffee meets, bringing folks of all-ages to come together to experience the beauty of beans roasted in butter and sugar, while meeting the trend of modern cafe culture.
While Jalan SS 4c/5 in Taman Rasa Sayang is more famous with Dou Dou Bake and B & Best Seafood Noodle before this when comes to breakfast & brunch options, the street is now blooming with more new cafes, offering plenty of cafe hopping opportunities. From Guan’s to our favourite Airplane Mode Coffee, 2nd Floor x Ground Coffee, Noon Viennoiserie, Undisclosed Location, Chiru Cafe – each having their own uniqueness.
Guan’s KL stands out for putting together the old and new, where diners get to enjoy a series of East meets West delicacies from their specially curated Traditional x Modern menu – a lovely concept that creates unique, charming dining scene in a Instagram-worthy, contemporary cafe setting. Classic is preserved, modernity counts.
The bar where white coffee and latte preparation both in action. Beautiful. GUANS White Coffee, Cham, Kopi, Teh O, Milk Tea, 3-Layer Milk Tea, Milo, Nestum; or hot matcha, mocha, and hot latte with nice latte art?
For food, again it is fun yet difficult choice. Kaya Butter with Hainanese Toast or Kaya Butter with Croissant? Fettuccine Aglio Olio or Dry Curry Mee Hoon with Chicken? The list goes on. Generally, the menu covers familiar choices like Mee Hoon Siam, Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken, Nasi Lemak Curry Chicken, Nasi Lemak Fried Chicken, Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong, Nasi Lemak Fried Sotong, Mee Mamak; some with a twist thanks to Guan’s creativity, says, Fettuccine Lemak with Crispy Squid, Truffle Carbanara Papperdelle, Curry Chicken Croissant.
Another thing that makes Guan’s worthwhile is, they are using beans from Malaysia’s famous roastery – Brew & Bread, and pastries from talented Petiteserie by Janice Siew, made with quality.
Suggest to come by early especially during weekend. The place is fully occupied with queue seen around 9AM to 10AM. Parking is easy if you arrived before 9AM during weekends.
