As its name implies, Sushi Mastro Nikkei specializes in Nikkei cuisine – or sometimes refers as Japanese-Peruvian cuisine. The tradition of Nikkei cuisine dates back to late 19th century, when Japanese moved to Peru for work and living. Due to the lack of traditional Japanese ingredients, they begin to incorporate Peru ingredients in their Japanese cooking technique. Elements from both countries matched beautifully, resulting in utterly unique dishes with added complexity in flavours, yet at the same time, keeping the tradition alive. From there, Nikkei cuisine begins to grow, continue to develop over generations.

A combination that captures the tropical sweetness of mango, rich; smooth taste of fjord trout and ikura umaminess, along with shoyuzuke – the extra flavour-booster. Hamachi Jalapeno Tiradito is equally delicious. Love how the Japanese yellowfish is enriched with spiciness from Jalapeno, fresh crunch of red onion and tangy touch from ponzu sauce.
