Fusion Man Noodle Kuchai Lama, a new venture by the team behind Papasan Canteen – the restaurant famous for their generous portion Japanese Omu Curry Rice with delicious, huge pieces of chicken karaage.
Despite having Kyushu ramen and Himokawa udon as the base of their noodle menu, Fusion Man Noodle is not an ordinary Japanese ramen shop. Ramen here is beyond just noodles, ajitma, scallions, and is especially worth-while on the key protein ingredients, definitely not-your-usual-chashu. There’s a twist in it, between Chinese and Japanese fusion. Visit with an open-mind, and you would be surprise with some of the interesting flavours offered here.
The kitchen is superheaded by a chef with decades of experience in Japanese ramen restaurant, and a Hakka family with F&B background. He loves food, and has incorporated some of the favourite dishes from his mum into Fusionman Noodle’s menu, for instance – this signature Vinegar Braised Belly with Vinegar on the Vinegar Belly Ramen RM17 we ordered!
Volcano Ramen RM21 – the reason that Summerkid got dragged to Fusion Man Ramen by Summergirl. This red hot soup is prepared from pork broth soup and freshly grinded chilli paste, served with 3 large pieces of hand-cut char siew, minced pork, egg, vegetables and nangka. Why nangka? It helps to tone down the spiciness, reduce the tongue-burning sensation. Apparently it works. Amazing. Highly recommend this Volcano Raman if you love spicy food, and if you are adventurous enough, check out the extremely spicy Crazy Spicy Ramen.
Other than replacing normal Japanese Chashu with Pork Vinegar and creation of Volcano Ramen, what makes Fusionman Noodle further stands out is their Kaisan Pepper Soup Rice with Tiger prawns and Lala, Braised Raddish Beef Tendon Rice, Smoked Bacon Ramen in Tomato Soup, Mee Hoon in Pepper Pork Broth with Lala & Rice Wine, and not to forget, the all-time-favourite Meat Bento Combo that put together Braised Belly with Vinegar, Char Siew, Fried Chicken, Ramen Egg, Centur Egg, Taiwan Sausage, Kimchi, Corn, Pickle Vege, Pork Lard and Rice – an option for the big eater. Ideal for sharing too.
