Don Don Donki, the famous discount chain outlet has finally landed in Malaysia, opening its store at LOT 10 Bukit Bintang, with easy access from MRT Bukit Bintang Station – like just literally 1 minutes walk from the station’s exit.
As expected, the queue has been crazy since Don Don Donki Malaysia opened its door to the public on 19 March 2021. But this scene doesn’t stop many of us from visiting, patiently waiting with full excitement.
During peak hours, queue can go up to 2 hours. Some said 3 hours. For us, is about 1 hour plus, started from 8.30PM. Still alright for us. On the positive side, Don Don Donki Malaysia adheres strongly to the SOP, with 1 meter of distance between each customer while queueing, and a limit of 200 customers at a time in the 3-floor store. Our friends told us if you visit early in the morning before 9AM, queueing time is 0 minutes. You can just walk-in and shop for all your favourite goods from Japan.
And now we are in! Let’s have a look on what they have. Gonna shop till you drop. Oh-so-excited!
Feels like we were in Japan! All the Japanese snacks, ramen, cosmetics, household products imported from Japan! Missing our midnight shopping at Don Don Donki Sapparo Hokkaido, which opens 24-hours!
Kitkat from different flavours, highlighting specialty from various prefecture of Japan.
Snacks..
Snacks….
and more snacks…
Omi beef, look at the amazing marbling!
Japanese cooking pantry essentials – bonito flakes, sauces, kombu, pancake mix, furikake, etc.. lost count on the choices.
Drop by after 9PM and try your luck. You might be able to get sushi and some hot food like Teriyaki Salmon at 20%, sometimes 40% for sushi.
Daifuku, mille crepe, ice cream and desserts for sweet tooth.
Household products. Used to lugged them all the way from Japan back to Malaysia but now we can easily purchase it at Don Don Donki KL. Save all the hassle. Lol.
Stock up your mask.
Strawberry & fruits! They have fresh vegetables too.
Milk tea that we will buy from their kombini every morning when in Japan. What missing is probably hot/warm version that we can grab from the drink stand.
And they have capsule toys machine as well located in Ground Floor.
There are 32 cashier counter, so check-out is pretty fast. Asking if we will be returning, of course yes! Why not. We miss Japan sooooooo much. But we will mostly drop by early in the morning, or after the hype slows down. Next, % Arabica at Pavilion KL maybe?
