Entier French Dining at Alila Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur – Finally we are here for our 11th anniversary celebration, after talking about it for few years, after all our friends already went and praised about their good food, after seeing tons of their beautifully presented dishes on Instagram. Glad that we made a visit here. Hopefully we are not too late to share about this place.
Entier, which means “whole” or “entire” in French, is the inspiration behind the restaurant’s culinary approach. They take pride in crafting creative French delicacies, using quality seasonal produce from near or far, with a highlight that presents the best of the Malaysian terroir and French regions.
The restaurant is located on the 41th floor of the building, also the check-in lobby level of Alila Bangsar. Since opening, Entier has received plenty of positive reviews from satisfying customers, both online and offline. Set lunch menu is a crowd-favourite here, thanks to its affordable price. For dinner, you can go for their Chef Dinner Tasting Menu – finely designed by the talented chef. Of course, ala-carte selections are high recommended too, if the price is within your budget range.
For Weekday Set Lunch Menu, enjoy 2-course meal at RM75, 3-course at RM90. While for Weekend Lunch Set Menu, price is set at RM95 for 2-course menu, RM110 for 3-course. They’ve actually made few rounds of adjustment to the pricing, higher when compared to first launched, but acceptable.
House-made Corn Bread, Kombu Butter, Pickles, Amuse Bouche
Oh-hello legendary Corn Bread! Freshly made in-house, it is warmth, crispy at the outside, chewy soft inside. Served with their celebrated kombu butter. Summergirl can have the whole bread to herself, and add-on another one. On the side is amuse bouche, and pickles.
– STARTER –
Pumpkin
Organic Highlands pumpkin soup, pumpkin pickle and puree, sunflower seed, crouton, puff pastry
Salmon
Cured Norwegian salmon tartate, salmon con quenelle, aioli, Highland Herbs
For this season’s menu, Entier offers 5 types of starters, namely Pumpkin, Tomato & Balsamic, Salmon, Avocado & Shrimp, Tomato & Balsamic, and Beetroot. To be honest, we couldn’t illustrate how our starters would be like by reading the description but chef doesn’t disappoint. Our Salmon and Pumpkin were great in presentation, taste as good as its look too.
– MAIN –
Beef
Bavette steak, fries, beef jus, egg
Done medium rare, lean, tender and juicy. Plus point – fries is unexpectedly good! So addictive that we wanted to ask if we could had another portion with extra charges. Lol.
Duck & Egg Waffle
Duck leg confit, French waffle, sauteed foie gras, egg, ginger glaze, fermented jackfruit
Wanted to have Pan-Seared Snapper Fillet but settled down with Duck & Egg Waffle instead, because we know that we can never prepare this dish at home. No regret. Carefully curated East meets West dish, putting together juicy, flavourful duck leg confit with fermented jackfruit for that extra pleasing, fruity sweetness.
– DESSERT –
Strawberry Eclair
Highlands Chitose strawberry compote, white chocolate, vanilla cream, honey crumble, strawberry ice cream
Cheese
Chef’s selection of 3 types of artisanal cheese, grapes, dried fruits, biscotti
– DRINKS –
House-made soda, coffee and tea are free flow. They do have Lunch Hour Wine Specials, offering wine by the glass of either White, Red, Pink Sparkling – RM60nett for any 2 glasses.
– To ADD-ON MENU –
Chocolate Souffle
Can’t resist ordering one when we saw this Chocolate Souffle on Entier Add-on menu. Made with 70% single origin Pahang chocolate, crusty top layer, airy soft beneath. Rich, intense cocoa flavours, just a tad too sweet for us.
Verdict: Total bill came to RM260 for two. Overall we had really wonderful dining experience at Entier. Delicious food, friendly service and lovely ambience. Their lunch session is crowded, so try to be understanding if your food takes a while to arrive, and staffs are unable to attend to you immediately. They do their part well, we would say.
Reservations: Make your reservations (12PM, 12.30PM, 1PM, 1.30PM, 2PM2.30) earlier, as their slots fill up quite fast. You probably won’t be getting a seat through walk-in.
Dress code: Website FAQ mentioned “dressed presentably to dine with us”. Swim wear, bath robes, bedroom slippers, sportswear are not allowed within the restaurant. lip flops, open-toe-footwear (for men), singlets and bermudas are not allowed during dinner from 6PM onwards. We saw some customers in short pants, so we aren’t too sure about their exact requirement. So it is best to check with the restaurant, to avoid getting turn down at the entrance. Lol. But we do suggest to dress up a little, as it doesn’t harm adding liveliness to your date out at a French restaurant, after all the stay-at-home days.
Parking: RM5 per hour.
