VCR Stacks at Shoplex Mont Kiara- Here for Egg Sando, because everyone is talking about it. Lol.
This cafe is new, but gaining popularity rather quick, which is understandable, judging from the reputation that VCR has built over the years, from both VCR Bangsar and VCR Galloway. Taking over the previous location of The Fat Fish (*now shifted to Retail 163 Park) , VCR Stacks set to kick start your morning with their evergreen coffee, and a delicious range of sandwiches – specially crafted, available from as early as 8.30AM daily.
Fuel up with sandwiches from either SAVOURY or SWEET menu, including Egg Sando, Classic Chicken, Zen Stacks, 4 Cheese Toastie, Pastrami Reuben, Saigon Stacks, Nut Butter Jelly and Strawberry Ricotta Tartine. Some items are still not available during soft launch period, so you might want to return and try more of their offerings in near future. Do note that sourdough base is different for different sandwich, where it could be sourdough brioche toast, seeded sourdough, sourdough ciabatta, Japanese rye sourdough. Guess it is served so for a reason, maybe to have it best match with the flavours and textures of the filling.
We shared an order of Egg Sando, as we usually don’t eat much early in the morning. RM15 for this lovely “STACK”. What worth-mentioned is they are putting together eggs done two ways- Free range soft boiled egg; plus sliced egg mayo with chives, dill, and celery within sourdough brioche toast. Not bad, but you probably won’t feel full from eating just this, if you are a big eater.
For coffee, needless to say, nice as usual. Saw that they are serving chocolate drink using Sungai Ruan Cacao beans, by our favourite award-winning, bean-to-bar chocolate maker local specialist – Benns Ethicoa. Give it a try if you are here.
Overall, a lovely place for quick breakfast, as well as leisure brunch. Price wise, it is actually not-so-friendly, but still affordable and acceptable. Service is friendly, good social distancing. You might need to wait for quite a while during peak hours.
