Orito KL at Plaza Damas, a cafe that reminds us about Norm Penang, thanks to its long, curved-shape bench. Just, a smaller version.
Located on the same row with Uokatsu 魚勝, the Japanese restaurant that is famous for their Mentaiko Rice Bowl, this new kid on the block set to impress diners not only on the interior, but also a range of delicious-looking sweet treat. Orito’s Dark Chocolate x Salted Caramel Choux that drives us here. It looks so good, with rich, creamy filling sandwiched within halved, puffy choux. Other than choux, they also have other sweet pastries & dessert like doughnut in matcha, passion fruits, dark chocolate and raspberry flavours.
Due to the overwhelming response that we saw from Orito Instagram stories, we decided to be there early, right at 10am when they opened the shop. Was so looking forward to check out their choux but there’s only doughnuts and coffee available. When asked, they told us: “It will be available at only 12pm, or maybe 1pm. Not sure “. Hmmm…..
In the end we settled only on coffee, as we aren’t a fan of donuts. Try to stay for an hour, waited and see if we had the luck to get choux. Sadly, only Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts Brioche was seen on the counter later, but we were about to leave already.
We love the ambience of Orito, so as their friendly service. Hopefully in near future, they would be able to serve the choux earlier, so that they don’t disappoint the trip of some customers who took effort to come early, yet have to leave with only doughnuts – at least, this is what we seen throughout our coffee session there. Maybe the cafe is still new in operation, probably they will get better soon.
