Dou Dou Bake, Taman Rasa Sayang – add this to your must-visit list if you have not. Be early or be ready to queue for an hour or two before you can get your sourdough, croissant, coffee and more.
Of good croissant, sourdough and coffee, Dou Dou Bake could be the place that first came into your mind – probably the most happening, most talked about dining spots in town recently. Test-your-patience long queue, right from the first week they open the door to public.
And this hype isn’t going to fade away anytime soon, we guess.
Went on weekend 7.35AM and was told that we had to wait for 2 hours. Gave up as we had some errands to run on that day. Summerkid returned again on the following Monday morning. Reached at 7.40AM and still, stuck for 1 hour of waiting.
But the exact waiting time could be shorter, as Summerkid managed to get in before 8.30AM. Just like many other cafes, Dou Dou Bake adhere strongly to SOP, practicing social distancing for health safety.
Dou Dou Bake goes on semi self-service, whereby you place your order at the counter, and food will be sent to you. Bread, pastries and cakes take the limelight here, plus a menu covering selections like soup, sandwiches, all-time-favourite brunch platter, etc., for a more substantial meal to fuel your day. Coffee, rest assured, wouldn’t disappoint as award-winning barista and founder of Artisan Roastery, are core team behind this bakery.
A bite of fresh baked goodness, a sip of freshly brewed coffee in a relaxed, zen ambiance – breakfast couldn’t be better than this. Love Dou Dou Bake and hope to be back again, when it becomes less crowded. Personally, we suggest to visit early in the morning, best before 8AM to catch the beautiful rays of sunlight that shines through the designer space.
