If you walk from Pavilion KL, turn left into the lane after Starhill Gallery, before Uniqlo. Again, look for the brightly lit Xiao Long Kan signage.

Xiao Long Kan Hot Pot Menu
For food, Xiao Long Kan menu covers a wide variety of hot pot ingredients from Supreme Australia Sliced Beef, Australia A5 Wagyu Beef, Supreme Thousand Layered Beef Omasum, NZ Lamb Slices, Premium Pork Neck, Premium Pork Aorta to Rose Meat Ball, Handmade Meat Balls, Pork Blood, Prawn Dumplings, Japanese Scallop, Duck Gizzards,Vegetables, Sharing snacks and more.
4 types of soup base to choose from – Traditional Spicy Soup, Mushroom Broth, Tomato Soup and Pork Bone Soup. Price is RM48 per pot. You can go for single flavor, two flavours (紅白鴛鴦鍋) or three flavours pot (三國演義).
We had Three Flavours Pot 三國演義, so that we can try 3 types of broth in one go!
Our order: Pork Neck (RM12/half, RM20/full), Duck Intestine (RM12/portion), Shrimp Paste (RM12/half, RM20/full), Australian A5 Beef (RM48/half, RM90/full), Pork Blood(RM10/portion), Vegetable Platter RM20/portion, XLK Spicy Chilli Beef (RM28/half; RM38/full), Fried Crispy Meat(RM16/portion) and Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Stick (RM13/portion).
Yass… extra-tender Australian A5 Beef 澳洲A5和牛 with aromatic Ma Lat Spicy Broth. Get the best of both worlds.
XLK Spicy Chilli Beef 雙椒牛肉 – highly recommended. A random order that turned out unexpectedly good. “Shabu -shabu” it for 3 minutes and tuck into beef slices that lends a succulent texture like thinly sliced beef tongue.
Rose Meat ball 手工玫瑰丸子, Shrimp Paste 手工蝦滑 and Fish Paste 手工魚滑 are also must-order in Xiao Long Kan. We especially enjoyed the fresh, bouncy Shrimp Paste. Goes well with soothing, tummy-warming tomato soup.
Pork blood, pork kidney, pig intestines, duck gizzards – summerkid favourites. Spotted pork brain too. Didn’t try it but our friend told us that it taste like shirako we had in Japanese restaurant. Soft and creamy, hmm…
Dipping Sauce – a mix of scallions, Xiang Chai, chopped garlic and chilli with Xiao Long Kan secret “Xiang You 香油” aka fragrant oil.
Tips: Have this together with your “Ma Lat Spicy Meat”. The fragrant oil can actually help to tune down the spiciness, while garlic helps to kill the bacteria. A small tips to avoid upset stomach the next day.
Overall, we love the Ma Lat Spicy Soup the most. Probably one of the best SiChuan Ma Lat Hot Pot we had in KL thus far. Thick, flavourful and aromatic, slightly tongue-numbing but acceptable. Ours was level 2 spiciness. Slurp slowly, you won’t get choked. Challenge level 3 spiciness if you really want the extra fiery hot sensation.
A quick browse to the menu if you want to have a better picture on what they have. (*price as of August 2019)
Fried Crispy Meat 現炸酥肉 – Addictive snack to nibble on. Eat this on its own, equally tasty in soup.
Brown Sugar 紅糖糍粑, popular dessert in Si Chuan Hot Pot restaurant. Soft, chewy glutinous rice sticks, drizzled with peanut powders and brown sugar for sweet finish.
