Spent our morning right at Wan Chun Ting, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara Hotel last Saturday for a lovely lunch.
Located next to Damansara City Mall, Wan Chun Ting Restaurant is highly popular for some of their Cantonese and Imperial cuisine, taking prides in refined traditional flavours as well as specialties incorporated with modern approach.
Love the interior that boasts a luxurious elegance, blending in oriental details and sleek contemporary finish into the high ceiling, spacious space that can seat up to 120 guests.
Just recently, Wan Chun Ting has launched their newly revamped menu, introducing over 20 new dishes including Steamed Scallop with Vermicelli & Golden Garlic, Double Boiled Baby Abalone Soup with Chicken, Snow Fungus and Wolf Berries, Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab with Salt & Pepper, Deep Fried Cod Fish with Chef’s Special Sauce, Braised 6 Head Abalone with Stuffed Sea Cucumber, Wan Chun Ting Trio Combination and Water Prawn Crispy Noodle with Scallion & Ginger – just to name a few.
Other than that, a selection of dim sum that are bound to impress is worth checking out too. We started with Trio Dim Sum Platter RM25 – A combination of prawn dumpling, chicken siew mai and cheese bean curd roll that allow us to enjoy 3 all-time-favourites in one go!
Next, Wok Fried Raddish Cake with Shrimp Paste RM18. Probably one of the best Stir-Fried Loh Bak Gou we have tried thus far. Wok-hei loaded aside, what makes this stir-fried loh bak gou stands out is the burnt bits that coated to the cubes of moist raddish cake – something that we always look for in this dum sum to get that extra smoky flavours.
Deep Fried Shrimp Bean Curd Wrap in Rice Roll RM18 is equally recommended. Different from the usual Chee Cheong Fan which is stuffed with meat or prawns, Wan Chun Ting’s version goes creative by wrapping deep fried to crispy golden brown shrimp-filled bean curd into the rice roll. Crunchy, soft and fresh bounciness, satisfying contrasting texture in every munch.
Sampled this rather interesting Soup Dumpling with Crab Meat, Scallop, Sea Cucumber & Cordyceps Flower RM38 too.
Huge dumpling enveloping delightful seafood treasure, immersed in tummy warming, nourishing soup boiled with Chinese herbs. Comforting dish that we don’t mind having frequently.
Steamed Scallop Dumpling with Crab Roe RM25
Besides Chef Recommendation mentioned above, Wan Chun Ting menu also offers from classic dim sum like Chicken Siew Mai, Steamed Salted Egg Custard Bun, Bean Curd Roll with Prawns, Steamed Prawn Dumpling to dim sum with unique twist – Deep Fried Prawn Dumpling with Salted Egg Yolk, Deep Fried Bean curd Roll with Mozzarella Cheese, Chicken Parcel and Shrimps with Mango Dressing, Smoked Duck Dumpling with Crispy Dried Scallop and more.
Wan Chun Ting Trio Combination RM38 per person from the ala-carte menu. A platter that put together chef’s signature Steamed Scallop with Garlic, Wok Fried Stuffed Fish Roll with XO Sauce, Cheese Bean Curd Roll with Prawns.
Roasted Duck RM80/half
End our meal sweet with Chilled Mango Puree served with Pomelo, topped with ice cream RM22. Order also Homemade Almond Cream with Egg White, Sweetened Matcha Pudding, Chilled Se Coconut with Red Date & Aloe Vera and Chilled Green Apple & Peach Resin with White Fungus if you still have room for more dessert!
