We aren’t a frequent visitor to The Starling Mall at Damansara Uptown PJ, but have been hearing a lot about some of the cafes & restaurants with great food and dining ambiance here. Bonfire Damansara is one of them.
Located near to the entrance of Starling Mall, Bonfire Damansara specializes in modern Australian cuisine, taking prides in a fusion of flavours incorporated with various cooking techniques. Dishes prepared using custom-made wood & charcoal fired oven are must-haves, along with main courses ideal from lunch till dinner.
Bonfire Damansara menu covers a wide selections of delicacies, from salad, soup and small bites to pasta, pizza, meats & ribs dessert. We begin with chef’s signature – Woodfire BBQ Pork Ribs (RM38, Medium).
Half rack of pork ribs, brushed with rich, sweet sauce made in-house, barbecued in wood-fire till beautifully charred at the surface for that extra smoky goodness. Fork tender, easily fall of the bone meat. Mmmm so tasty.
Served over a bed of mashed potato and coleslaw. RM38 for medium, RM48 for large.
For appetizer, we actually have our eye on Deep Fried Homemade Chinese Sausage (RM18), Deep Fried Marinated Spicy Pork Belly (RM26), Pork Papadum (RM12) and Sauteed Garlic Prawns (RM18). All look so delicious.
But since there’s only two of us, we ended up with Caesar Salad (RM23) instead for a more “balanced” meal. Some green at least, despite the tempting homemade pork croutons aka Zhu Yao Zhar and crispy pork bacon bits garnished over. Lol.
Bonfire ‘s pizza falls on thin crust version, topped with both classic and creative ingredients. We stick to the all-time-favourite Kamehameha!, or Hawaiian pizza (RM28). Recommend to try Strawberry Basil Balsamic if you want more interesting flavours – a combination strawberry roasted with fresh basil sliced and drizzle of balsamic reduction.
Our wood-fired Kamehameha! Pizza. Thin and crispy base loaded with baked chicken breast, pineapple and turkey ham meat.
Soft Shell Crab Pasta (RM32), one of the best sellers in Bonfire Damansara. And we can understand why. Flavourful at every mouthful, thanks to the laboriously prepared seafood bouillabaisse. Added with chunks of sausages for extra texture. Not to forget, a whole crispy, deep fried to golden brown soft shell crab.
Portion was generous, suggest to share between two persons if you are small eaters, so that you can save rooms for their desserts, such as this Bonfire Chocolate Ball (RM28).
Sphere Belgium dark chocolate encased with salted caramel ice cream, dried fruit, toasted nut. Flamed with brandy when served so make sure to have your camera well-ready for the WOW shot.
Lastly, a colourful garden-like Smoking Pavlova RM26. Bed of berries and passion fruit puree, topped with crispy crusted meringue. A sweet & sour concoction, just the right dessert for a refreshing finish.
If you need your booze when dine in Bonfire Damansara, the restaurant also offers a wide range of drinks including beer, cocktails, vodka, gin, tequila, rum, brandy, shooters, wine. Non-alcoholic beverage such as coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks are available too.
Other than food available all day on Bonfire menu, do check out Bonfire Signature Woodfire Roast Pork too. It is available only in the evening (*around 4PM). So eager to sink our teeth into roast pork with crispy cracking skin but sadly we were too early on our visit. Do give it a try if you happen to be there for dinner!
