*****
Goa by Hubba Ascott KL, the destination for modern Indian cuisine in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Relocated from Ramada Suites KLCC in Bukit Ceylon, the new home for Goa by Hubba in Ascott KL is equally welcoming, just one floor above Tujo Bar-sserie & Grill; and set to entice your discerning taste buds with a menu that highlights Indian delicacies with contemporary touch, proudly crafted by celebrity chef Sapna Anand.
Butter Chicken with Cranberry Rice
Visited this place for dinner last week with friends, sampling some of the highlighted dishes like Kashimri Lamb Chop, Fish Mango Curry, Pepper Beef Fry, Butter Chicken with Cranberry Rice and Malaba Bone Marrow Mutton Curry, just to name a few.
Papadam with Moong Dhal Salsa
Bigger than our face papadam – It is flat, round, paper thin, like an addictive crispy chips tinge with Indian spices. Great to break it bit by bit and eat on its own; of course better to top it off with a some Moong Dhal Salsa served along.
Vegetarian Mantao
Vegan-friendly stuffing of spiced cauliflower, pepper, caramelized onion and coriander, all enveloped in fluffy soft Chinese steamed bun. 4 in a set.
Garlic Butter Prawn with Fried Mantao
Fresh water prawns cooked in garlic butter sauce – mildly spicy, garlicky, creamy. Douse the fried mantao with rich, flavorsome sauce and double up the satisfaction of enjoying this dish.
Pepper Beef Fry
This Pepper Beef Fry might not be picture-worthy but it tastes so good! It is actually a popular Kerala-style beef fry, having bite-sized beef chunks cooked till moist and tender, packed with a great depth of spices and freshly ground pepper flavours. High recommended.
Vegetable Ishtew
Chock full of vegetables stew cooked in savoury, coconut milk-based gravy.
Kashmiri Lamb Chop
To Summergirl, when comes to lamb dish, almost every time is a new testing, as she is so afraid with the gamey taste of lamb. Glad that Goa by Hubba’s version is stamped with approval. Their lamb rack is nicely curated to achieve minimal gaminess, grilled to locked in juiciness with a blend of homemade spices. Had it together with mint chutney dip for refreshing minty finish.
Fish Mango Curry
Another top favourite from Goa by Hubba. Mango in your curry sounds odd for us, but don’t judge, because the kitchen team churns out a really wonderful rendition! Red Snapper is very fresh, cooked to the right texture in mild curry. Young mango enhances the overall flavours with hints of tangy-sweet-tartness, just nice.
Malabar Bone Marow Mutton Curry
Lightly spaced slow cooked mutton curry till soft and tender
Complete your meal with Goa by Hubba comprehensive range of cocktail, creatively incorporated with Indian herbs and spices, yet surprisingly harmonious when comes to sip, blending well with other quintessential cocktail elements.
