Wizards at Tribeca, Imbi Kuala Lumpur (*near to Bukit Bintang) – A new gastronomic adventure by award-winning Yellow Brick Road Cafe Jalan Batai and Red Bean Bag Publika.
More cafe hopping in 2018? Definitely. Why not, especially when there are so many new cafes popped up in town recently. Just by visiting coffee places in Kuala Lumpur city alone are enough to make our waists turn wider, wallet become slimmer. LOL.
Anyway, our February began well with a noteworthy visit to Wizards at Tribeca, Imbi Kuala Lumpur – A new venture by award-winning Yellow Brick Road Cafe Jalan Batai and Red Bean Bag Publika.
Expect finer contemporary touch for food at Wizards Tribeca, as they incorporated ingredients like Foie Gras and Australian angus rib eye in their dishes, along with eye-pleasing presentation. But overall, still a casual spot for lovely brunch and dinner, or maybe in between.
Wizards Tribeca KL menu covers delicious list offering from familiar Eggs Royale (RM30), Oscar’s Big Brekkie (RM33), Rocket Science Beef Salami Pizza (RM30), Slow Braised Pulled Beef Tagliatelle (RM30), WizardsBeef Burger (RM30), Japanese Soy Glazed Halibut (RM56), Smoked Duck Delight (RM42) and ScallopSalad (RM30), just to name a few. Beyond all this, what caught Summergirl’s attention most is their dessert. So intrigued!
..And she skipped everything and had only this Deconstructed Tiramisu (RM22).
A pretty combination of chocolate ladyfingers soaked with fresh espresso, layered with mascarpone cheese, repeat, finally dusted with German cocoa powder, chocolate soil and caramelized roasted cocoa nibs. Ahh…what a blissful bitter-sweet sweet treat.
Lunch hour calls for rice, usual practice for Summerkid. Hence an order of Sally Bowles (RM32) which has his favourite tataki salmon as center stage, generously topped over a bed of Japanese rice together with avocado, pickled vegetables, seaweed and onsen egg.
Colourful comfort food that is hard to go wrong with.
Coffee Tasting Platter RM17
A visit to Wizards at Tribeca is incomplete without coffee. Bump into Malaysia Brewers Cup 2017 Champion if you are lucky. LOL. We did though.
Latte RM12
Check out Wizards Weekly Coffee Specials, with specially selected beans for filter coffee, and Wizards’s Espresso Blend – 60% Brazil Fazenda Ponto Allegre, 40% Indonesia Wahana Estate. Other than coffee, tea, matcha, chocolate, cold press juice, cocktails and beers are available too.
In short, a cafe in the heart of Bukit Bintang that you should add into your KL-to-visit-restaurants pocket list. Environment wise, Wizards at Tribeca KL doesn’t carry much elements of Red Bean Bag or Yellow Brick Road. It is whole new refresh look, Instagram worthy of course. For price, it is above average (easily above RM100 for 2 after tax) but considering the location, ambience and food taste, we don’t mind paying more for a quality meal, once in a while.
