Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang 三文鱼捞鱼生
Begin the meal with Yee Sang. OMG look how beautiful this Yee Sang is presented! Two blooming “roses” made from raw salmon slices, further decorated with colourful condiments, shredded vegetables and crushed peanuts to form like a garden. Too pretty to eat!
Double-Boiled Chicken Soup with Abalone and Mushroom 10 頭鮑魚冬菇燉雞湯
Warm up the tummy with soothing, nourishing chicken soup, served with 10 head abalone and mushroom.
Steamed Oyster with Seamoss發材蠔鼓, Steamed Siew Mai with Crab Meat蟹子燒賣, Pan-fried Bean Curd Skin stuffed with Shrimp香煎腐皮卷
A platter of dim sum, putting together Steamed Oyster with Seamoss, Steamed Siew Mai with Crab Meat and Pan-fried Bean Curd Skin stuffed with Shrimp. Summergirl’s favourite dish in that evening.
We especially enjoyed Steamed Oyster with Seamoss – a lovely concoction of earthy soft dried oyster with chewiness of fish meatball, dressed in really flavourful braised sauce.
Li Yen Special Roasted Chicken麗苑清遠燒雞
Crispy golden brown skin, shielding tender, juicy meat beneath – Li Yen Special Roasted Chicken is as delicious as expected. Surrounded by crackers to add extra addictive crunchiness.
Stir-fried Prawns with Chilli Paste辣子明虾球
Fresh, bouncy prawns stir-fried with spicy sweet chili sauce. A delicacy that is best to go with rice, or with mantou to mop up the wonderful sauce. Another thing we like about this dish – Prawns are de-shell and de-vein, making it much easier to tuck in. Haha. Save the hassles of peeling prawns.
Steamed Clay Pot Rice with Chinese Waxed Meat腊味瓦煲饭
Personally, we felt that Li Yen at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur serves one of the best Claypot Rice with Waxed Meat for this Chinese New Year. It looks simple, but actually takes almost an hour to prepare. Rice is slowly cooked in claypot from raw, then topped with Chinese sausage, liver sausage and waxed duck air-flown from Hong Kong. Smoky sweetness, oil and essence of waxed meat will slowly release into the rice, graciously flavour up the entire dish!
Black Sesame Dumplings in Red Bean Soup红豆沙汤丸
Black sesame dumpling in red bean soup as dessert, rounding up the whole meal in a sweet note.
