Wok Fried Chili Crab
From Fresh Clams in Superior Broth, steamed Garoupa with Hong Kong Style Soy Sauce, Fried Squid with Salted Egg, Steamed Mussels in Ginger Emulsion, Steamed scallops with Garlic and Glass Noodle, Deep Fried Pomfret with Spiced Salt and pepper, Wok Fried Yabbies with Soy Sauce, Chili Crab and Wok Fried Tiger Prawns & Curry Leaves – be ready to get spoilt with 10 delicious Chinese seafood delicacies, and repeat your favourite orders as much as you wish to!
Priced at only RM165nett per person including free flow of Sirap Selasih, Lemonade Mint and Lemongrass Pandan, we have to say that this buffet definitely worth every penny you pay for.
Wok Fried Yabbies with King Soy Sauce
Take the Wok Fried Yabbies with King Soy Sauce as example. We were served with fresh, meaty yabbies, beautifully stir fried with finger licking good king soy sauce. A few orders of this could have easily cost more than your buffet price if you had it as ala-carte in restaurant outside.
Fried Crispy Squids with Salted Egg Yolk
Most items served in Makan Kitchen seafood buffet is locally sourced in support to sea, great in quality with freshness ensured. In other words, your seafood dining at Hilton is actually more worthwhile, as you are playing a part in supporting Hilton Worldwide global sustainable seafood goals, making positive difference in people’s lives and maintaining healthy oceans.
Fresh Clams in Superior Broth
Warm up the tummy with Fresh Clams in Superior Broth, aka Xiong Tong La La. Makan Kitchen DoubleTree by Hilton KL version in less “ginger-ish”, with more depth from Chinese herbs. Very nourishing.
Steamed Sea Scallops Garlic and Glass Noodle
Four scallops in one order, and we had two helpings of this hehe. Plump scallops, topped with glass noodles graciously soaked up with pleasing sweetness released from this seafood – eat all in one go for best flavour. Could order more but decided to give the third plate a skip so that we get to check out more other dishes.
Steamed Black Mussels with Fresh Ginger Emulsion
So used to Western style mussels cooked with white wine, garlic, etc. Good to try out mussels prepared in oriental way – steamed with liberal of fresh minced ginger.
Wok Fried Four Season Vegetables with Spicy Dried Shrimp
Vegetables to balance up the amount of seafood we had. LOL. Like how the spicy dried shrimp flavours up the long beans, eggplants and angle beans.
Wok Fried Bitter Guard with Salted Egg Yolk
Can’t help loving food associated with salted egg yolk so having a plate of Wok Fried Bitter Guard with Salted Egg Yolk is a must. Not bad, better if they go lighter with the amount of salted egg yolk.
Deep Fried Red Snapper with Sweet Sour Pineapple Sauce
Summergirl’s favourite! A balanced sweet and sour concoction, thickly coated onto deep fried red snapper fish fillet, along with bursting sweetness from pineapple cubes. A bowl of rice please!
Steamed Garoupa with Blended Soy Sauce
Surprised when we served with whole garoupa fish instead of the sliced or just partial. Slightly overcooked but still quite alright, smoothness added when dressed with light soy sauce.
Wok Fried Tiger Prawn with Buttermilk and Curry Leaves
Highly recommended. Deep fried Tiger prawn, further flash fried with rich, creamy buttermilk sauce, laced with aroma of curry leaves. Crowd favourite in our dinner at Makan Kitchen DoubleTree by Hilton that night.
Deep Fried Baby Pomfret with Spiced Salt & Pepper
A dish that reminds us about the fried fish that Summerkid’s mum loves to churn out from her kitchen. Eat when it is pipping hot to enjoy the crispy outer layer, especially crunchy on the fins and tail.
