Table 9 Bangsar Kuala Lumpur, the latest addition in Jalan Telawi 3 after VCR Cafe. A charming cafe by day with plenty of natural sunlight, great for a relaxing, leisure brunch; turning into a welcoming restaurant at night, surrounding by warmth, hue light for for casual, cozy dining with friends, family and loved ones.
Either one, Table 9 Cafe & Kitchen serves pretty decent food from their full-fledged menu at reasonable price. From all-day-breakfast to healthy salad, pizza, spaghetti, sandwiches, risotto, and house specials – a good list of Mediterranean-focused cuisine with Korean touch make Table 9 a little more worth-mentioned.
Mango Bingsu RM15
Come for the savouries, stay for bingsu, because it is one of the best in KL! The chef behind is Korean, so does the owner! So we have a reason to begin with dessert. Table 9 offers 8 type of bingsu, namely Espresso Bingsu, Red Bean Mochi Bingsu, Tomato Bingsu, Oreo Bingsu, Blueberry Bingsu, Green Tea Bingsu, Tiramisu Bingsu and Mango Bingsu.
Starts with Mango Bingsu, and keeps Espresso Bingsu after dinner. A milk base shaved ice, very light and snowy! Literally melt-in-mouth, sweetness added with generous amount of cubed mango. Only RM15, cheaper than many other places.
Table 9 Big Breakfast RM25
Table 9 Big Breakfast – this is clearly for Summergirl. Chicken sausage, beef bacon, grilled tomato, sauteed mushrooms, hashed potatoes, choice of 2 scrambled eggs or sunny side up and toast with butter & jam, all in one platter. Hearty enough to feed two.
Orchard Salad RM22
Breakfast here is served all day. Other options includes Omelett, French Toast, Pancake and Orchard Salad. Our favourite is Orchard Salad, a combi of fresh mixed cut fruits – watermelon, apple, orange, blueberries, kiwi tossing in yogurt dressing.
Baked Eggplant RM25
Capsicum and melted cheese loaded over halved eggplant, adding cheesy richness, sweet crunch that pair well into this slightly mushy, soft vegetable.
Mushroom and Vegetable Panini RM23
Greens-packed panini, stuffing trio colours chopped bell peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese within two toasted bun. Then lightly pressed and heated to achieve a crunchy exterior while maintaining the chewy texture, at the same time melting down cheese to deliver sinfully delicious cheesiness, thickly coated to vegetables. The moist and aroma of sauteed mushroom with bread are so much win! Love this!
Pizza Miele e Formaggio RM23.00
Calling cheese pizza lovers. This is lovely! Gorgonzola cheese spread over thin, lightly crispy pizza base, sided with honey. No “pull long long” cheese effect but the rich cheese flavours make it a good savoury-sweet pairing with honey. Just look at the shiny cheesy surface, argh..sinfully delicious, can’t be too wrong huh? Be careful too as it is really hot when served so be careful. Suggest to have the pizza dip with honey instead of drizzling the honey over the pizza so that you have better control over the sweetness. We only knew this later. So ours was done not quite right. lol.
Table 9 Picante Seafood Pasta RM28.00
Recommended pasta if you like your noodles tossed in thick, creamy and spicy gravy. It looks nothing more like an ordinary pasta, until we start tucking in. It tastes quite different from what we initially thought of. Cream base sauce blended with fiery hot flavours in a bit Kimchi-style, thickly coated to al-dente strands of spaghetti.
Pepper Grilled Chicken Breast RM26
Pepper grilled chicken breast, ideal for diners looking for less sinful, equally delicious poultry dish. Chicken breast for the protein, glad that it wasn’t tough and dry. Dressed in spicy cream sauce and pepper sauce, but not extra thick in consistency, very creamy type. More towards zesty tomato-ish, mild peppery comfort taste. Served with vegetables medley.
Table 9 Picante Cream Risotto RM28
One of the crowd favourites Table 9. We like it too. Creamy but appetizing, thanks to its spiciness and pleasing sourness that open up the palate. It is OK to indulge all by one person, not cloying. Take your switch from the ever-popular black squid ink risotto, you might like this risotto in bright orange-red. ‘Coz why not when it is superb.
Espresso Bingsu RM15
Round up the whole meal in a bitter-sweet way with Espresso Bingsu. Reminds us about affogato, but replacing ice cream with fluffy soft shaved milk ice.
I Am Real Strawberry Latte
One more! Have this I Am Real Strawberry Latte filled up in long glass bottle. A combi of cube strawberry, fresh milk, honey and sugar. No preservatives. No artificial colour. Milky, laced with dreamy taste of real strawberry, like the famous Korean milk drink but of course this is whole lot of fresh and natural. Can only stored for 2 days maximum. Grab n’ go, enjoy in the office for healthier day.
