Kopenhagen Coffee at Vista Kiara, Mont Kiara Kuala Lumpur, says this is one of the most popular cafes for hipsters to have brunch and coffee recently, we can hardly deny. The name of Kopenhagen reminds us about Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, also one of the oldest cities in Europe. In fact, this place reflects the taste of “hygge” through its cozy, minimalism design. Spacious, minimal decoration, plenty of natural sunlight, definitely a warmth, serene location for for your weekend hideout.
The opening of Kopenhagen has attracted so many coffee lovers that it goes really crowded especially in weekend afternoon. We only managed to secure a seat after two visits. It was 2PM. So happy that it was half emptied when we walked in.
Kopenhagen holds a mini menu. Less than 10 items on their all-day-breakfast/brunch selections, and a list of beverage longer than the former. Scrambled Eggs with Fresh Tomatoes, Spring Onions & Sourdough Bread (RM14), Greek Yogurt with Granola & Blueberries (RM12), Bagel with Tuna Mousse (RM15), Bagel with Tomatoes and Fresh Slices of Mozzarella (RM18), Bagel with Cream Cheese (RM9) and Potato Salad (RM10). Reasonable price for comfort food.
Since we were still full from our Pokebowl lunch at Paperfish TTDI, we gave a skip to these savoury dishes and opted for a slice of Danish Dream Cake. Sweet brown sugar coconut flakes topping with spongy butter cake as base. Old-school flavour but great with their coffee.
Coffee here stays to the classic espresso-based. Flat white, cappuccino, latte, piccolo or long black, Kopenhagen doesn’t disappoint. What makes their coffee noteworthy is none other but the ceramic wares used to fill our coffee.
We flipped over the saucer and found that it was made by Royal Copenhagen, a centuries old establishment that has long known for their ceramic wares in blue and white. Beautiful like a piece of art. Put on any tabletop, your coffee looks good in #flatlays and #nonflatlays. So much win but holds tight and don’t break them. lol.
A worth to visit coffee shop that showcases heritage and lifestyle of Copenhagen. Maybe we will come here more often, sit by the window and start day-dreaming on one of our dream destinations – LEGO flagship store in Copenhagen. A way of getting closer to it? Hahahaha.
