The Daily Grind Bangsar Village, a restaurant that serves one of the best gourmet burgers in KL has extended their business hours during weekend, opened earlier to serve you with wholesome breakfast and brunch! More good news: there’ll be a new outlet in Persiaran Ampang soon, just two doors away from La Risata Italian Restaurant.
So, kick start your weekend with 9 choices from The Daily Grind brunch menu which available from 9am till 2pm. Be it sweet or savoury, the list has got both covered. Napoleon & Churchill, Smokin’ Seaside Scones, Burger Me Breakfast, Herb Brioche Pudding, Pancake Souffle, Captain Morgan’s French Toast, The Mockery, Goddness Bowl and Waffle Chicken – each sounds delicious, better when tuck in.
Napoleon & Churchill RM25
High recommended. Except rocket leaves and apple, everything in this plate is made in house. The Daily Grind makes their own sausages, so it is more meaty, firm bites. Savoury crepe is a surprise, as it is actually filled with cheddar cheese, pairing well with romesco aioli sauce swirled around the plate.
Smokin’ Seaside Scones RM28
RM28 for this is value in price. Freshly baked onion scones, still warmth with crumbly outer layer, moist and soft within. Complete with 2 perfectly poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce, thick slices of smoked tuna, smoked snowfish, and rocket salad.
Burger Me Breakfast RM27
Burger Me Breakfast is a won’t-go-wrong order if you couldn’t decide what to eat. Two brioche bun sandwiched with beef patty, stearky beef bacon, hollandaise & tomato jam.
Herb Brioche Pudding RM29
Herb Brioche Pudding, eggy like an omelette but with a cross of fluffy bread textures. Topped with air-fried beef, salted caramel drizzles, walnuts, sultanas and rum. A balance of sweet and savoury, and we enjoyed the delightful sultana & walnuts crunch that pairs really well with the pudding.
Captain Morgan’s French Toast RM23
French toast is towards old-school style, something that opposes the texture of brioche but not dry. Crowed with rum & raisin ice cream, pistachio and maple syrup for sweet finish.
Goddess Bowl RM22
Whenever there’s Acai Bowl, Granola with Honey Yogurt or anything similar, it will become Summergirl’s favourite. Same to The Daily Grind ‘s Goddess Bowl. LOL. She beh pai seh polished clean the whole plate of homemade yougurt, pumpkin seeds, mango, goji berries, oats, coconut flakes, mixed berry coulis when friends on the brunch table passed this to her. Hahaha.
Waffle & Chicken RM22
The Daily Grind captions this as “Can’t wait till lunch” because it is probably the heaviest dish among the rest. Generous pieces of deep fried chicken, stamped with approval from Summerkid – extra crispy golden brown exterior, tender juicy meat. Served with waffle, and happy to see maple syrup. Not sure since when we like fried chicken with apple syrup over chilli sauce but no cheat, they are tasty combi.
Overall review: The Daily Grind may not be the first one to join KL brunch-hype, but definitely worth trying. Smokin’ Seaside Onion Scones, Waffle & Chicken and Napoleon & Churchill are our big favourite. Price wise, it is much cheaper than we expected, considering the portion, ingredients used as well as location.
