Fu Chuk RM15
Staying with food, Lavo menu covers a sufficient list of Western and Asian delights at reasonable price. Surprisingly friendly selection that fits for almost everyone, be it family dinner, friends gathering, mini events, couple anniversary, corporate dining or whatever occasion calls for.
Kampung Fried Rice RM13
We started our dinner in Lavo the unique way, indulging into Kampung Fried rice with a glass of Lychee Mojito, specially crafted from the bar area brimming with beer, wine and liquor. That’s how we love this place, for it recreates the love for food and drink by enabling a cross between local favourite with Cuban highball even at a most casual meal.
Nasi Lemak RM16
Next up, Nasi Lemak. Unexpectedly huge chicken leg, easily double the size of Nasi Lemak Ayam served in many restaurants. Flavoured up with spices marination, deep fried to golden brown for a thin layer of crispiness at the outside, satisfying bites of tender, juicy meat within. Comes with pandan infused coconut steamed rice, chilli paste, sunny side up, anchovies and peanuts – Yeap, as traditional as you can see. Nothing fancy but well-executed, making this plate of RM16 national dish worth every penny you pay for in an exquisite environment. We don’t get a reason for no recommending this dish in Lavo.
Char Kuey Teow RM13
One of the best sellers in Lavo, also a familiar street food you can choose from their Asian sections to fulfill your noodles craving. Singapore Fried Bee Hoon, Fried Beef Koay Teow, Cantonese Noodles, Hokkien Noodle, Ginger Beef Koay Teow, Beef Noodles Soup are available too.
Baked Salmon RM30
A dish enough for two if you were small eater. Oven baked salmon fillet enveloped in puff pastry, highlighting original sweetness of fish so there’s no heavy seasoning coming into play. But you’ll have puffy layers of pastry, plus creamy, mushy spinach and mashed potato to get the dish more interesting in terms of texture.
Linguine al Cortoccio RM28
Other Western options in Lavo includes Beef Wellington (Oven baked beef tenderloin wrapped in puff pastry), Lamb Shank, Coffee Chicken (grilled coffee marinated boneless chicken thigh), Surf’s Up (barramundi, grilled prawn, clam sauce), Fish & Chips, classic pastas, pizzas, rib eye steak, grilled lamb rack, and grilled sirloin steak.
Marinated Chicken Skewer RM15
Satay? No. More than that. Chunks of boneless chicken thigh, marinated with local spices and put to grill. Creatively served over a light bed of honey tomato vinaigrette for tangy twist. While we enjoyed the lean part, perhaps a better portion of fat on the skewer will mark up the overall flavours and moist.
Caesar Salad RM16
Caesar Salad for healthy fix. Fresh baby romaine lettuce, tossed with homemade dressing, soft boiled egg, crackers and parmesan cheese. Trace down the garlicky flavour, it makes this simple salad sheds a difference. Suggest to crush the long crackers and mix into salad. It blends well too. Add additional RM4 for Cajun Chicken, RM6 for Smoked Salmon and RM8 for grilled prawns.
Wild Mushroom Soup RM15
Homemade, prepared from trio handpicked mushroom so you get plenty of tiny bites instead of purely smooth, creamy mushroom soup. Served with toasted garlic butter bread. You can also ask the friendly staffs for Soup of The Day, or Beef & Onion Soup if you weren’t into mushroom soup.
Burp! Enough for savoury so is time for dessert! Shared two desserts with friends even though we were already super full. Butterscotch & Fruit and Black Forest (RM12). Butterscotch & Fruit, layer of fudge cake, fruits and chocolate fudge with chocolate ice cream. For the latter, butter cake layered with fresh fruits, topped with butterscotch sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Lychee Longan Mojito RM236 Strawberry Mojito RM26, Watermelon Basil Caipirinha RM23, Smoked Sweetness RM29
Cocktail, a reason to make you stay and lay back for longer in this restaurant.
