Ti Chen Chinese Restaurant at Saujana Hotels & Resorts moves to its new home by the lake in September, transforming conventional dining into a fresh and sensational experience. Satisfy your palate with dim sum and Cantonese cuisine crafted by the restaurant’s dynamic duo, Chef Sam and Chef Yau.
Charming oriental touches in soft colours, enhanced by gold-leafed pillars and wooden floorings, completed with private dining room and al-fresco dining area overlooking scenic lakeside and water feature views surrounded by lush greenery, Ti Chen Chinese Restaurant now gives you more reasons to visit for a casual yet elegant meal, with perfect location for romantic sunset Chinese dinner.
While the interior deserves some highlights, food is not forgotten too. In fact, it is still noteworthy as before, with improved recipes. Executive Chinese Chef, Sam Lu has crafted a list of delicious items on Ti Chen menu, focusing on upholding a balanced variety of premium Chinese cuisine.
Bringing a creative twist to Ti Chen classic offerings, Chef Sam’s uses wood-fired oven for some of the dishes to create extra flavour dimensions that are impossible to recreate with other cooking styles. Do check out their “Beggar” Style Spring Chicken and Sea Prawns Papillote with Garlic Sauce, baked in the restaurant’s open kitchen area.
Other recommended house specialities include the Crispy Skin BBQ Roast Duck, Stir-fried Crispy Flat Rice Noodles with Japanese Clams, a colourful symphony of Stir-fried Hong Kong Kai Lan with Crispy Enorki Mushrooms, and his latest creation – special homemade “Charcoal” Bean Curd.
Apart from ala-carte menu, dining in Ti Chen is heightened with the introduction of pork free, all-you-can-eat Dim Sum Brunch on weekends! Enjoy unlimited hand-crafted specialities created by dim sum expert, Chef Yau Kim Yew.
Ti Chen dim sum buffet is available every Saturday and Sunday from 10.30AM-3.00PM, priced at RM118 nett per adult, with children between 6 and 12 years old dining at half the price. Featuring over fifty exquisite selections of dim sum, this weekend treat is definitely a perfect score for those who can never get enough of dim sum.
Hot dim sum are prepared upon order, served hot and fresh to your table. Plenty of choices – Steamed, baked, stir fried and deep fried, rest assured, we believe Ti Chen dim sum buffet can cover most of your favourites. For dessert and some cold appetizer, diners can pick from the counter in front of the opened kitchen.
Prawn dumplings, loh mai kai, steamed rice roll with prawns, loh bak gou are our highly recommended classic dim sum. Summergirl especially love the “har gau”, having bouncy prawns wrapped in semi-transparent dumpling skin. Summerkid on the other hand, enjoyed the wok-hei loaded Wok Fried Radish Cake, flavoured up with belacan sauce and “choy pou”.
For more innovative selections, Steamed Pumpkin Cake, Baked Charcoal Mini Egg Tarts, Steamed Custard Bun with Cocoa Powder, Chilled Prawns with Fruit Salad, Atlantic Crab Meat with Green Salad, Grilled Squid with Green Salad, Steamed Pheonix Claw with Nyonya Sauce are worth a try.
Initially, we tried to skip the bun or carb base dim sum as they will fill up our tummy pretty fast but we get hooked with their “pau” and porridge! The porridge, cooked in Cantonese style is so smooth and creamy. Just the plain porridge alone is already worthwhile, better with ingredients like minced chicken & century egg, prawn meat & vegetable, seaweed with crab stick and Asari Clam & Ginger. Asides, Summergirl ate 3 pau, because the bun was so soft and fluffy that she couldn’t stop. Chicken char siew pau and custard pau are must try!
Save some room for desserts – Ti Chen’s Signature Tau Fu Fa, Double Boiled Red Bean Soup with Mandarin Orange Skin, Chinese Almond Tea with Egg White, Traditional Peanut Butter Cream and Deep Fried Chinese Pancake “woh peng” will not disappoint!
