Sul So Dam Korean Dessert Cafe at Sri Petaling KL opens it door to the public last month, located same row with Tiny Temptress, Softsrve, Aboong, Yorokobi, Neighbourhood Cafe. More sweet treat choices along Jalan Radin Bagus 8, but each shines through with their own uniqueness.
For Sul So Dam, Korean bingsu comes into limelight, complete with simple savoury Korean favourite food. The shop itself is considered spacious, occupying two lots with huge signage, brightly lit, hence you can hardly miss it out.
Business was at brisk during our visit last weekend, after dinner hours. Full house in first glance but glad that we managed to grab a seat at a more hidden corner, hence no queue needed. Sul So Dam Korean Dessert Cafe menu is straightforward, covering selections like Korean shaved ice, smoothies, coffee, Korean tea, toppoki, gimbab, smoothie and “mohitto”.
We sticked to the most basic Korean bingsu – Red Bean Snow Ice (RM18.80). You can also opt for Korea Cake & Yellow Bean Powder/ Injeolmi Bingsu (RM22.80), Oreo Bingsu (RM24.80), Chocolate Banana Bingsu (RM25.80), Grapefruit (RM27.80), Mango Cheese (RM28.80) and latest addition – Melon Bingsu (RM32.80)
We thought of ordering Melon Bingsu initially as it has the best presentation among all but after our bad experience of this flavour at Mykori, we decided to give it a skip. Sometimes original is the best, and Sul So Dam doesn’t disappoint. Their Red Bean Bingsu is so good! Fluff, snowy milk base shaved ice, topped with sweet red bean paste, caramelized walnut, glutinuous rice cake and drizzles of condensed milk.
All these sweet toppings paired well with the shaved ice, just that it might get a little too sweet towards the end. Suggest to add in condensed milk gradually according to your tastebud. We greedily poured in 2/3 of it, as regretted as we “over-poured”. Hahahaha. Anyway we really love the milk shaved ice. Texture is great, comparable to our favourite bingsu shop in Damansara Uptown, Bangsar and Solaris Mont Kiara.
Had an order of Cafe Latte (RM11.80) too as Summergirl had not gotten her caffeine fix for more than two weeks.
Overall, another recommended dessert cafe in Sri Petaling. Service is good, staffs are friendly but try to be patient if they did not response to you, as they were quite busy though. Help yourself to the cutleries and FOC water at the section near to counter.
