It is a pleasure to have Dynasty Restaurant Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel, the pioneer for Malaysian International Gourmet Festival (MIGF), joining this event again, for the 15th years. High Octane Executive Sous Chef Kok Chee Kin, will be presenting a 4-course high-powered cuisine set, available from 1st Oct till 31st Oct 2016.
“Flavours is always at the forefront of my mind when I create a special menu. Food presentation must be eye-pleasing in order to satiate a high octane hunger,” said Chef Kin. This festival menu is priced at RM250nett per person without out, and RM320nett per person with 2 glasses of wine.
Being a master at bringing together contrasting textures, flavours and colours to create unique, full bodied dishes, Renaissance Hotel 2016 MIGF dishes by Chef Kin, rest assured, will not disappoint. This is fully evidenced starting from appetizers, as diners satisfy their palate with XO Fortune Money Bag with Bacon Curd Folder, Crispy Pork Belly with APple and Seafood Wrapped in Rice Paper.
The clear winner on this platter goes to Crispy Pork Belly with Apple, receiving high praises from everyone in the dinner that night. A mean cut of roast pork, crackling skin with balanced layer of fat and lean meat, reaching for mind-blowing bites loaded with chews, juiciness, a little fat and crispiness.
Followed closely, diners were served with losbster consomme, morel mushroom with fresh crab meat and sea treasure. Nourishing, soup in medium consistency, infused with seafood sweetness.
First main course put together braised boneless duck le, dried chicken seafood and whole abalone. While abalone scores on the premium side, the braised duck wasn’t shadowed too – soft and moist with some chews remained, dressed in a bed of flavourful sauce.
Second main dish – King Prawn with ginger and scallion with flat noodles, appears more like a comfort food, in finer way. Flat rice noodles immersed in thick, gooey broth, flavoured up with ginger and scallions, plus king prawn sweetness. We polished clean everything in a jiffy.
Dessert by Chef Kin never disappoints, for any occasions and festivals, as well as normal day ala-carte menu. Dynasty MIGF 2016 dessert is well-executed, adding a touch of modernity to the classic. Enjoy Golden Potato filled with warmth, oozing goodness egg yolk custard, and refreshing alkaline cake served with berry sauce.
Lastly, not to forget, round up with Doubled Boiled Bird Nest & Aloe Vera in Coconut, a dessert that infused distinct flavours of coconut into the sweet soup, thanks to the long hours of double boiled.
