Summer at 17°C Cafe in Connaught Avenue, Cheras KL holds a name that made us first thought this place serves dessert like ice cream, soft serves, bingsu or whatever food related to the colourful, cheerful Summer.
Only to know later that it is actually a proper cafe with full-fledge menu that caters meals from breakfast till late lunch. A cafe well suit the Summers – *High Five* to Summerkid & Summergirl in Summer at 17°C Cafe. Just the cafe is not belong to us. LOL.
Summer at 17°C Cafe is located opposite to Econsave Len Sen, same row with Berry Potter cafe. Minimalist design in white colour and wooden theme, adorned with large wall murals, small decorations and fresh flowers. Menu covers from Western breakfast croissant, Asian-style chicken chop, beef stew, classic and fusion pasta, egg waffle and cakes. Most items are reasonably priced below RM20, except for Portobello Fish.
Mr Quacker RM19
We started with Mr Quacker that put together “quack quack”- Smoked duck and interesting combinations – chopped dried apricot and nut dressing, all sandwiched within halved croissant. Served with mixed salad and potato wedges. Didn’t try out Summer Asian Chick (RM19), which said to be the best seller in Summer 17 Cafe. Imagine a slice of cheddar cheese, melted over pipping hot, crispy sweet and sour chicken. Gorgeous. It is hard not liking this though.
Portobello Fish RM22
Summergirl’s favourite. Generous piece of pan seared dory fish topped with baked portobello mushroom, served over a bed of pumpkin gravy. Juicy, soft, sweet creaminess all in one mouthful.
Salted Egg Yolk Pasta RM18
We gave a skip to beef stew and sweet & spicy chicken chop because there are more intrigued selections on the next page of Summer 17°C Cafe menu – Salted Egg Yolk Pasta ! It was so good! Generous amount of salted egg yolk sauce, thick and flavourful, thickly coated on each strand of spaghetti, further laced with hints of spiciness and curry leaves aroma.
Mushroom Carbonara RM17
Portion looked small but was actually just right, a little more we would end up feeling cloying. Summer at 17°C Cafe has their version topped with an egg yolk. Mix it with your noodles and enjoy a smoother, creamier carbonara spaghetti.
Gula Melaka Egg Waffle RM18
Seeing our favourite Gei Dan Zai on dessert list, we couldn’t help but order a serving of it even though we were already full by the time we finished our spaghetti. 5 flavours to choose from – Classic Egg Waffle; Egg Waffle with Matcha Ice Cream, Red Bean Paste and White Chocolate Flakes, Egg Waffle with Chocolate Ice Cream, Bananas, Corn Flakes; Egg Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream, Blackcurrant Jam; Egg Waffle with Gula Melaka Ice Cream, Almond and Coconut Flakes.
Rose Chocolate RM11
Rose Chocolate was beyond our expectation, lovely as its look. Deep chocolaty, very light rosey flavour to contribute the feminine side of this drink. We believe they make good cups of real Hot Chocolate.
Cappuccino RM9
Cooling Breeze Soda (Apple, cucumber, lemon juice) RM12
Go Bananas (Banana, latte) RM12
Coffee, signature cold drinks, hot tea sum up beverage selections in Summer 17°C Cafe.
