Apollo pork noodles at New Seaview Restaurant 新海景茶餐室 is mentioned as the best pork noodles in Taman Paramount Petaling Jaya. We read through some of the reviews, mostly positive, so we decided to give it a try.
Reached around 11AM and was ready for a full house scene. But it wasn’t as crowded as we thought of. We managed to secure a table after walking for one round in New Seaview Restaurant. For parking, suggest to park by the roadside. Most of the shops along the area are closed on weekends, plus there’s no morning market like what we experienced in Restoran Sun Sea OUG and Kui Lam Pork Noodle Cheras. So it somehow, save the hassle of traffic congestion while looking for parking.
As expected, Apollo pork noodle stall was the busiest, with bowls after bowls of pork noodles lining up at the counter waiting to be cooked. Service was quite friendly though. The staff listened nicely to our order, then repeated to double confirm.
Pork Noodles Soup RM7 (small + egg)
Our pork noodles reached within 20 minutes, considered fast as we saw only one pot “operating” on the cooking stove. RM7 for small (add on poached egg), and it was really small, just half the size of Mama Love Pork Noodles. Luckily it tasted quite good. Clear broth but full of flavours, sweet with mild taste of soy sauce. Minced meat, pork liver, pork slices, pork intestine as toppings, better if they could be more generous with these ingredients.
Char Koay Teow RM6 (small)
Other than Apollo pork noodles, New Seaview Restaurant also houses stalls selling Yong Tau Fu, Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fan, Cury Mee, Prawn Mee, Stir Fried Noodles, Nasi Lemak, Claypot Noodles, Pork Ball Noodles, Sarawak Noodles, Chicken Rice, and Teow Chew Braised Duck but none of them interest us. Finally settled down with Char Koay Teow because it seemed to be the second most ordered food besides the pork noodles. Clearly, a wrong order. It was lacked in wok hei, way too oily, so oily that we could hardly finish half of it.
Overall review: Apollo pork noodles is highly recommended, we like the soup but was quite pricey considering the pork ingredients given. Kopi Peng in New Seaview Restaurant is forgettable, bad at RM2.20. We hopped over to Fluffed Cafe & Dessert Bar for coffee later, because it is only 1 minute walking from New Seaview Restaurant hehe. Their waffle with lavender ice cream is lovely!
