Aboong Korean fish waffle “swims” all the way from Korea to Malaysia, landed in Kuala Lumpur with their first cafe at SS15 Subang Jaya, aiming to capture the tastebud of students and beyond.
Initially, we thought of visiting Miss Rose Cafe, the Korean Yogurt Ice Cream that also takes up KL most-recent dessert fever besides the Japanese Baked Cheese Tart hype. But it was closed when we reached, thanks for our stupidity for not checking Miss Rose opening day in Facebook ahead. Hahaha but is OK, as SS15 is never short of food. “So now, what to eat” won’t really too long to answer. Finally settled down at Aboong. We were glad that we did, as it was really nice.
From a common street food waffle in square to waffle in fish shape, sauce as side to stuffing it into the “stomach” of fish, ice cream as topping to crowning over “opened mouth” of the fish – Aboong takes tradtional street food to a modern twist, getting crowd attention and yeah, well suit to the “picture before eat” trend nowadays.
From Aboong SS15 menu, you can choose to have their two signature fish waffle – Original Waffle with Red Bean fillings & Original Frozen Yougurt and Chocolate Waffle with Nutella fillings & Mango Frozen Yougurt…
..or customize your favourite to have have original (RM10.90) or choco waffle (RM11.90) , then stuffed with Red Bean, Custard or Nutella (+RM1), topped with Frozen Yogurt or Special Flavour (+RM1).
Nah nah nah… our Bungeoppang with Mango Froyo and a stick of choco coated marshmallow at RM13.90! Not exactly cheap in price but enjoyed every bit of it. Freshly made waffle, beautiful fish shape ( cute! like! ) , lightly crisp outside, dense like a soft brownie inside, generously filled with Nutella sauce. Rich, chocolaty, balanced up with fruity sweetness from mango yogurt ice cream. Highly recommended!
Those who are not into waffle can opt for froyo in different flavours like strawberry, mango, banana, oreo marshmallow and choco banana. Pair your dessert with coffee from Portafilter, a humble cafe resides in Aboong. Get RM3 off with one receipt of Aboong.
