This holy month of Ramadhan, enjoy Ramadhan buffet with a taste of Thai at one of the best Thai restaurants in KL – Chakri Palace Royal Suria KLCC and Chakri Thai Cuisine Pavilion KL. Priced at only RM91.90 per adult (RM47.90 for children between 6-12 years old, senior citizen above 56 years old), diners get to indulge in an array of popular Thai dishes, alongside with local favourites.
There are 3 menu on rotations, but no worries as Chakri will ensure all appetizer, salad, main dishes, noodles, grilled items, dessert and drinks on each Ramadhan buffet menu will please your palate. Start with Mieng Kam, traditional snack that wraps peanuts, chili, shallots, dried shrimp, ginger, lime juice, shrimp paste within heart-shape leaf, folding in plenty of texture and flavours in one bite.
Continue with Mee Krob, a type of Thai Crispy Fried Noodles with texture akin to Chinese sesame rice biscuit stick, further laden with sticky sweetness similar to “Sak Keh Ma”. Shrimp Cracker, Deep Fried Tofu, Samosa, Vegetable Rolls, Kurma and Jeluk complete the starter section.
For salad, Thai Mango Salad, Spiced Minced Chicken Salad, Spicy Crispy Morning Glory Salad, Spicy Grilled Chicken Salad, Papaya Salad, Glass Noodle with Seafood Salad, Wing Bean Salad, Thai Papaya Salad are available on selected days, 4 types for each menu.
Diners can then began to pile their plate with hot dishes such as Prawn with Butter Sauce, Massaman Beef, Stir Fried Beancurd with Thai Basil Leaves and Fresh Chilli, Lamb with Black Pepper Sauce, Prawn with Butter Sauce, Chicken Kapitan, Stir Fried Mee Hoon, and Nasi Briyani.
Among all we had sampled, Prawn with Butter Sauce is highly recommended. Prawns take the limelight but what we loved most is the bed of scrambled egg stir fried together with it. So soft, so fluffy, almost deserves a place in American big breakfast set. LOL.
Tom Yum Noodle Station
You will never go wrong with a bowl of Tom Yum Soup in Chakri. A balanced of sourness and spiciness, helmed with spices aroma. Have it as broth for noodles of your choice, or drink to your heart’s content. During our preview for this Ramadhan buffet dinner, chef had also prepared Thai Laksa, but not really up to our taste.
Beef Satay and Chicken Satay served with peanut sauce, with nasi impit and shallot.
Save some room for Mango Sticky Rice, the best Thai dessert in the sweet treat counter. Also, not to forget is Pumpkin custard, Mixed Fruit, Black Bean in Coconut Syrup, Steamed Sweet Tapioca, Cakes and more.
Chakri Ramadhan Buffet include drinks as well – tea, coffee, fruit punch, sugarcane juice, soya bean to quench the thirst.
