Experience contemporary fresh market dining and taste the difference of fresh makes with the launch of InterContinental Kuala Lumpur hotel’s new fresh market dining concept buffet! This buffet dinner runs from 23rd March 2016 onwards, from 7PM till 10.30PM at InterContinental all-day-dining restaurant, Serena Brasserie.
As the buffet theme highlights, “Fresh Market Dining” allows you to walk through a selection of fresh seafood, poultry and meat, pick up your favourites and get them cooked at your preferred cooking style. The buffet is priced at RM138nett per adult from Sunday to Thursday, RM178 nett per adult on Friday and Saturday with “catch of the day” galore.
“The Fresh Market dining connects guests to the visual (imagery of the produce), olfactory (fragrance of produce), and kinesthetic (sense of touch) aspect to their cuisine, while granting the freedom to explore a diverse savour to the typical cuisines, with the 10 styles of cooking preparations by the chefs.” said Chef Suhalmi.
Each offering is carefully hand-picked by Serena Brasserie’s chef de cuisine Suhalmi Tasir, from garden-crisp vegetables to succulent air-flown seafood such as sea bass fillet, salmon fillet, saba, clam, black mussel, tiger prawn, and mussels…
…alongside with meat and poultry selections namely the Australian beef striploin, tenderloin, ribs, lamb rack, duck preferences, and many more. Have them stone-grilled, cordon blue, pan seared, teriyaki style, stew braised, confit or ragout cooking style! You may have a hard time on which one to try, but of course, this is also the best part in InterContinental Fresh Market buffet.
If stomach allowed, stay through the whole buffet dinner and order all the 10 types of cooking styles for your seafood & meat. Bouillabaisse broth, portuguese stew, stone-grilled, cordon bleu, deep fried batter-breaded, teriyaki flair, pan-seared, meat stew braised, confit, ragout and all flavours nice.
We didn’t get to try out all types due to the huge crowd, but be adventurous and let us know your favourite after your visit! Deep fried tempura style salmon and salmon confit are few of the items that surprised us. Quite good though.
Remember to check out chef ’s recommended Serena Brasserie ’s signature Sang Har Mein, a delightful combination of flat noodles and rice vermicelli in a gravy of smooth, creamy thick egg sauce with succulent, freshwater prawns.
International cuisine delights from Spanish, Portuguese, and Italy namely the Paella Valencia (a traditional Spain rice dish), Arroz de Marisco (portuguese seafood rice), and the Risotto ai funghi (an Italian-renowned risotto dish); international cuisines prepared with the creamy savour of seasonal Grana Padano cheese are available too..
Grabbed few bottles of this freshly squeezed juices to complement your food. You can also pick your preferred combination from a flamboyant display of fruits, and staff will deliver straight to your table once done. Watermelon with celery juice may not be the crowd favourite, but surprisingly suits Summerkid ‘s tastebuds. //additional chargers apply//
Save some rooms for desserts! Daily live station of onde-onde, banana boat, or berry cobbler, warm dessert counter, extensive chocolate fountain medleys, and New Zealand Kapiti ice-cream varieties to please. We especially love the warm berry cobbler, putting together tangy sweet berries in a bed of milk sauce and biscuit crumbs, just right to balance up the heaviness after all the savoury dishes.
In sum, the delightful Fresh Market dining with wide-ranging seafood and fresh produce delivers a tantalizing experience that must not to be missed in 2016.
